Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. While you mention examples like online courses, shopping malls, and food delivery apps, the explanations are underdeveloped and lack depth. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the ability to fully explore the topic. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. Paragraphing is inconsistent, and the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'For example', they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not effectively link ideas. The repetition of phrases like 'I talk before' and 'Main while' (likely intended as 'meanwhile') disrupts the logical progression of the argument. Improving the use of transition words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would greatly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple words like 'folks', 'things', and 'good', which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are also frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'providing of facilities' and 'others material'. To achieve a higher band score, you need to incorporate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations related to the topic of consumerism and modern lifestyle choices.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people having so many choices'), incorrect article usage, and sentence fragments. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they are often faulty. Focusing on basic sentence construction, correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like 'Their' instead of 'There' will help improve your accuracy and overall clarity.
