Student answer (Band 6.0)
With the changing dynamics of the modern world, there has been a shift in people's preference. A school of thought claims that in today's world, every individual have too many choices. I completely agree with this notion as due to rapid advancement of technology and easy availability, lots of choices may emerge.
To commence with, the most prominent reason of having too many choices is the advancement of modern technology. This is possible as due to the human made technology known as quick delivery apps, that helps us make lots of different choices. As this gives a much quick access to various items, thus causing to built choices. For instance, in past, individuals use to have less choices when they order food, as it takes a lot of time to deliver a different dish, if they don't like the previous dish. Therefore, as a result, it makes us to make choices much more easier.
Another reason of having too many choices is easy access and availability. This is proven true as in today's world, we do have access to many choices in every field such as clothing, foods, natural resources. This leads us to make choices. For example, in today's time, we do have access to many renewable resources such as tidal energy, wind energy and active solar energy, however in past, individuals use to rely on passive solar energy and electric energy, therefore having less things to depend on; eventually lesser choices than now.
To conclude, the belief of some is true that in today's modern world, we have too many choices. To further explain, not just in one field , but in every field; we have choices. This is possible because of the easy availability and advancement in technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'quick delivery apps' is a bit narrow and does not fully explore the broader implications of having 'too many choices' in modern life. The examples provided, such as the comparison between renewable and passive solar energy, are relevant but could be more effectively linked to the core argument about the psychological or practical impact of excessive choice. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the consequences of these choices rather than just listing examples of where they exist.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To commence with' and 'Another reason', which provide a logical structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel forced, such as 'This is possible as due to the human made technology'. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, making some sentences feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next, rather than relying on repetitive sentence starters.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'lots of choices', 'many choices', and 'every field'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'causing to built choices' and 'makes us to make choices much more easier'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'consumerism', 'overabundance', 'decision fatigue', or 'technological proliferation', and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('every individual have'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing ('in past, individuals use to have'). There are also errors in word form, such as 'much more easier', which is a double comparative. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
