Student answer (Band 6.0)
Making choices is also being a part of everyone's life. Every human being has to make multiple choices in their life. However, in ancient times people had limited choices whereas now people have multiple choices and I agree with this extent which I will talk in further paragraphs.
Firstly, with the advancement of technology and infrastructure, we have a range of options for travel such as car, bike, scooter, aeroplane and ships etc. But in earlier people do not have these much choices to make for travel. For example, if a person owned multiple vehicles he/she also have to choose that by which transported method they went travel by. Also, now people have also choices in wearing their attire. There are many fashionable things which are introduced in the market. Every occasion and festivals have different clothes to wear so people have a wide options to select it.
Furthermore, there are also choices in food when a person visits a restaurant. They have options of such as Chinese, Italian, Indian and Japanese. Even though every region has it different food so people have to choice in food also.
However, in some part of area things people have limited option. Choosing a subject for study, usually at this time people have a specific range of choices to make like maths, science, arts and commerce. Also, in terms of birth, no one can decide someone's gender before birth. People can not make choice if they want boy or girl.
To conclude, people have surely multiple choices but at the same time they have limited in some aspects of life. The choices can be any such as which means of transport, which type of clothes they want to wear, or which cuisine they would like to eat. Nevertheless, people also have limited choices in terms of education and the gender of the children they want.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the increase in choices in modern life. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you provide examples like transport, clothing, and food, the analysis remains descriptive rather than evaluative. The position is clear, but the argument could be strengthened by discussing the implications of 'too many choices'—such as decision fatigue or anxiety—rather than just listing areas where choices exist. The conclusion attempts to balance the argument, but the points regarding gender and education are slightly tangential to the core debate about the abundance of modern options.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise (e.g., 'I agree with this extent'). Some transitions are repetitive, and the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition from transport to clothing in the second paragraph feels abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence clearly relates to the previous one would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'advancement of technology', 'infrastructure', and 'cuisine'. However, there is a lack of flexibility and precision. You rely on simple phrasing, such as 'many fashionable things' or 'wide options'. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'transported method' instead of 'mode of transport' and 'have to choice' instead of 'have a choice'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated collocations and less common vocabulary to express your ideas with greater nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'Making choices is also being a part of everyone's life' (awkward phrasing), 'in earlier people do not have' (tense error), and 'people have to choice' (verb/noun confusion). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focusing on consistent verb tenses and correct word forms will help improve your accuracy.
