Student answer (Band 5.5)
As per the current scenario it is observed that there are more number of choices for people by many people,
So the main reason for this increase in the amount of choices is immense amount of availability in resources
As the amount of resources increases, the amount of choices and options increases apparently
In ancient times due to less availability of resources the option of choice making remained lower as compared to present situation
As per my perspective increase in technologies and modernization leads to generation of enormous production of choices for the overall population of the world
As the production increases, availability of resources increases and eventually choices by people rises
there are many advantages as well as disadvantages of these kind of choices
As the choices increases, people feels more relaxed due to which they become a bit lazier, their productivity falls, their analytical thinking power reduces, due to which it creates a negative atmosphere in the surroundings, which is one of the dangerous reason for the society
while on the other hand due to more choices, many positive choices can arise too, like there can be fear of being substituted by contemporaries, due to which the responsibility increases on the shoulders of the workers and firm
If more choices are made available for the people than everyone would try their best to attract more consumers towards them due to which healthy competition takes place and eventually economy of the country rises with the rise in national income
Thus it depends on the consumers to think wisely and make accurate choices

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the increase in choices and providing both advantages and disadvantages. However, the position is not clearly stated in the introduction; the writer merely observes the phenomenon rather than taking a clear stance on whether there are 'too many' choices. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive, particularly the focus on 'availability of resources' in the first paragraph. The development of ideas is limited, and the conclusion is abrupt. To improve, ensure a clear thesis statement is provided in the introduction and that each body paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks effective paragraphing, as it is presented as a single block of text, which significantly hinders readability. While there is a logical flow from the introduction to the body and conclusion, the transition between ideas is often mechanical or repetitive, using phrases like 'As the...' or 'due to which' repeatedly. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often misused or create run-on sentences. To reach a higher band, you must use clear paragraph breaks to separate your introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, and vary your linking words to improve the flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is a heavy reliance on basic terms like 'choices', 'amount', and 'increases'. Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'generation of enormous production of choices' and 'dangerous reason for the society'. The range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and academic collocations to express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in punctuation, such as the lack of full stops between independent clauses, leading to long, run-on sentences. Subject-verb agreement errors are also present, such as 'people feels' and 'choices... rises'. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent grammatical errors and punctuation issues impede the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on sentence boundaries and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your score.
