Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is argued that in today's world we are privileged to enjoy a lot of options than before. Although it is true that old generation has suffered for basic amenities, so it does not mean that we are having the best only. I agree with the statement but with a discernment.
On the one hand, it is worthy to say that people in current era are blessed with multiple advancements either its technological or emotional intelligence. People have access to medical treatments, education, job opportunities, and better life style. For example, to get best education, we have access to schools, colleges, and universities. Even if students are not able to join classes for any reason, they still have access to the class via online platforms. Therefore, the mode of study is also an option for us, without missing out on any topic.
On the other hand, in spite of available facilities, we are suffering from environmental issues and we have no option to it. In search of advancement, we exploited natural resources and damaged it to its verge. People are not concerned about the safety of our environment system. They are blindly destructing the available resources and polluting the earth with no responsibility. In this scenario, governments need to come together and execute laws and regulations to save the remaining natural resources from being extinct. By sharing the resources, and being responsible for our surroundings, we can achieve our desired goals for healthy life as well.
In conclusion, although the previous generation did not enjoy the best of it, they can educate their offspring to save the earth and enjoy it without destroying it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging the abundance of choices, but the development is somewhat uneven. While you provide examples regarding education and technology, the second body paragraph shifts focus to environmental issues, which is only tangentially related to the 'too many choices' argument. To improve, ensure that every paragraph directly supports your position on whether having too many choices is beneficial or detrimental. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, ensure your position is consistently maintained and that all supporting points are clearly linked back to the core question of whether we have 'too many' choices.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, the transition between the idea of 'choices' and 'environmental issues' is abrupt and lacks a clear logical bridge. Some cohesive devices are used mechanically, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'although the previous generation did not enjoy the best of it'. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph builds upon the previous one will help achieve a higher score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'amenities', 'advancements', and 'exploited'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'destructing the available resources' (should be 'destroying') and 'no option to it' (should be 'no choice regarding it'). There is also some repetition of basic words. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic, topic-specific collocations will help you move into the higher band range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'old generation has suffered' (should be 'the older generation'), 'either its technological' (should be 'whether it is technological'), and 'damaged it to its verge' (should be 'to the verge of collapse'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of these minor grammatical slips prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
