Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's world there are so many choices in every ones life and even for some valuable and unvaluable things. Some group of people believes that we have to many choices around us. I strongly agree with this notion.

To begin with choices, there are those people believe that there are multiple choices to make decision or to solve a problem in today's world. also it is very necessary for individuals to run a smooth life. In today's life style and trend we see choices every where out around us. for example if we go to supermarkets for purchasing our next month provision we can find different branded companies for the same product even for little products that will use for our daily needs. which will also make us difficult to choose the products. Later when we reached the billing counter we can also find various option for paying our bills.

Further more, Choices are very important for students to decide their career in a good path. For Example for a student there are lot of opportunities in Today's word after their schooling. they can even go for reputed works and also there are lot of options for them to decide that what kind of course they are going to pursue. Not only courses but also of different types of colleges or universities based on their interest. Choices are also very useful for the graduates for choosing their correct job perfect jobs in different kinds of roles because there are too many kinds of job in the world for the individuals to choose.

TO, conclude that we can see lot of choices in Today's world with different types of aspects. So i strongly agree with the notion that some people believe that nowadays we have lot of choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of the idea that we have too many choices. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. While you provide examples like supermarkets and career paths, the explanation of why having 'too many' choices is a negative or positive phenomenon remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should focus more on the implications of these choices—such as decision fatigue or the anxiety of missing out—rather than simply listing areas where choices exist. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'To begin with choices' is unnatural, and the transition 'also it is very necessary' lacks a proper subject. There is also a lack of variety in linking words, with 'also' and 'for example' being used repeatedly. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between supermarket choices and the difficulty of choosing is not fully articulated. Improving the flow between sentences would significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good path', 'reputed works', and 'little products'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'unvaluable things' (which is not standard English) and 'purchasing our next month provision'. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary limits your score. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repeating simple words like 'choices' and 'things' throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There is a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Some group of people believes'), article usage (e.g., 'in Today's word'), and punctuation errors, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters and improper capitalization of 'Today's'. Additionally, sentence fragments and run-on sentences, such as 'which will also make us difficult to choose the products', impede the flow. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to be distracting and demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures.
