Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few people argue that in the days of advanced technology, people have got plethora of options regarding consumer choices. In the given essay we will discuss that how much this statement is true or fake.
As per my opinion, the advancement of science and the innovative technological world has unleashed the diversity of goods in the supermarket. This scenario in not only constraint to the supermarkets only but also to every place where we go to purchase anything whether these are the electronic devices or the daily grocery shopping or the vegetables or fruits we eat.
For instance, in the old times of our parents there were only the seasonal vegetables and fruits available but now it does not matter which fruit or vegetable you are going to purchase and in which season, everything is available in the market in every season.
In case of electronic devices, there are variety of washing machines available as manual machine, semi automatic and fully automatic machines.
Even if you go out to buy a mobile phone in the mobile phone market there are plethora of options available according to your budget and company choice.
Although, presence of bulk of choices also has some drawbacks like it leaves us in a state of decision paralysis but this condition is only for the moment we went out to purchase thing. But the advantages still outweigh the drawbacks.
So, the gust of this essay is that availability of choices is a good sign as it gives the mankind freedom.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the abundance of choices, but the development is somewhat superficial. While you state your opinion that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks, the arguments provided are quite brief and lack depth. For instance, the mention of 'decision paralysis' is a strong point, but it is dismissed too quickly without sufficient exploration or supporting evidence. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your ideas with more detailed explanations and specific examples. The introduction is also slightly informal in its phrasing ('true or fake'), which detracts from the academic tone required for Task 2.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Phrases like 'For instance' and 'In case of' are used, but there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs. The transition between the drawbacks and the conclusion is abrupt. Improving the flow by using a wider variety of transition signals (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless') would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'plethora', 'unleashed', and 'decision paralysis'. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'gust of this essay' (which is an incorrect idiom; 'gist' would be the correct word) and 'constraint to' (should be 'confined to'). Additionally, some phrasing is repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'available'. To improve, focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring that collocations sound natural in an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'Few people argue' (should be 'A few people argue'), 'In the given essay we will discuss that how much' (awkward phrasing), and 'this scenario in not only constraint' (should be 'is not only confined'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage.
