Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's world, people have a lot of opportunities due to the advancements in science. It is often argued that having too many choices is a great blessing, while others believe that it can be overwhelmed. I completely agree with this statement and this essay will explain why.
One of its main advantages is that we can choose another field, if we face setback in one. This not only gives determination and confidence about the future but also helps us to enjoy wider range of facilities. For instance, if a student unable to meet the eligibility criteria of medical schools then he can choose pharmacy, physical therapy and even allied sciences as an alternative. Students are no longer confined to limited fields in fact, they have bundle of new opportunities waiting for them after experiencing setback from one.
Another major advantage is that now people are exposed to multiple information and they can adopt different choices at the same time. For instance, a doctor can be an entrepreneur, a content creator and a professor at one time. This helps people to develop more academic and interpersonal skills, while adopting multiple distinct career options.
Having said that, having different modern choices can be overwhelming since, it might distract your focus and sometimes divert you towards misleading paths, which can be problematic in a long run. Although, misleading can be prevented by giving people couple of advices and conduct their career counseling so, they are better able to go in the right direction.
All things considered, a plenty of choices are making people more diverse and multi talented rather than repenting on previous setbacks. Though it can sometimes confuse people to choose right direction, I believe its advantages outweigh its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed the prompt by taking a clear position and providing relevant arguments. You discuss both the benefits of having many choices, such as career flexibility, and the potential drawbacks, like feeling overwhelmed. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the point about a doctor being an entrepreneur is a good start, but it could be expanded to explain how this impacts society or the individual's well-being. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the implications of your points rather than just listing them. Your position is consistent throughout the essay, which is a strength.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'For instance,' 'Another major advantage,' and 'Having said that' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the sentence 'Although, misleading can be prevented...' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the logical progression of the paragraph. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'advancements,' 'eligibility criteria,' and 'interpersonal skills.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'it can be overwhelmed' (should be 'overwhelming') and 'bundle of new opportunities' (which is slightly informal). You also use 'a plenty of' incorrectly; 'plenty of' does not take the article 'a'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated, academic-style synonyms will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'if a student unable to meet' (missing the verb 'is') and 'couple of advices' (advice is an uncountable noun). Additionally, there are punctuation issues, such as the unnecessary comma in 'since, it might distract'. While your meaning is generally clear, these recurring errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and subject-verb consistency.
