Student answer (Band 6.5)
in this paragrap that says that nowadays, some people have many number of choices in almost every aspect of their lives, from education and careers to shopping and entertainment. While having more options can be beneficial, I largely agree that having too many choices can sometimes create unnecessary stress and confusion. On the one hand, having a wide range of choices gives people greater freedom and allows them to make decisions that suit their individual needs. For example, consumers can compare hundreds of products online and select the one that best fits their budget and preferences. Similarly, students today can choose from a variety of universities, courses and career paths. This level of choice was not available to previous generations and can help people achieve greater satisfaction. On the other hand, an excessive number of choices can make decision-making difficult. When people are faced with hundreds of alternatives, they may spend a great deal of time comparing them and worrying about making the wrong dechision moreever, when choosing a mobile phone, a person may become confused by the large number of brands and models available. Furthermore, having too many alternatives can sometimes lead to dissatisfaction because people may constantly wonder whether another option would have been better.
In conclusions, although having more choices provides freedom and can improve people's quality of life, I believe that an excessive number of options can cause stress and make decision-making more difficult. Therefore, I largely agree that modern society sometimes gives people too many choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided a balanced view, acknowledging the benefits of choice before arguing that the excess can lead to stress and indecision. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples such as online shopping and career paths. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are fully developed; for instance, the link between 'dissatisfaction' and the 'fear of missing out' could be explored in slightly more depth to demonstrate a more sophisticated level of argumentation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You have used cohesive devices effectively, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore', to guide the reader through your argument. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the opposing viewpoints. The progression of ideas is smooth and easy to follow. To improve, ensure that referencing is always precise; for example, the opening sentence is slightly fragmented and could be better linked to the prompt to improve the overall flow of the introduction.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision. Phrases like 'individual needs', 'excessive number of choices', and 'quality of life' are used correctly. However, there are some minor errors, such as 'in this paragrap that says' (which is awkward) and the spelling error 'dechision'. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations or less common lexical items related to the theme of consumer psychology or decision-making theory to show greater flexibility and control over your word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most sentences are clear, and the meaning is never in doubt. You demonstrate good control over basic grammar, though there are occasional slips, such as the missing punctuation before 'moreever' and the capitalization error in the same word. While you use complex structures, increasing the variety of subordinating conjunctions and ensuring consistent punctuation would strengthen your performance. The majority of your sentences are error-free, which is a positive indicator of your current level of grammatical control.
