Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals believe that humans these days have multiple options. Well, I am Switzerland because having various options and able to choose them depends on the person's situation, however comparatively earlier we used to have limited options. Reasons will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.
The foremost argument to justify my stand is that choices vary from person to person while privileged might have enormous options lower-middle class or poorer classes have limited choices to cite an instance, one of my friend is very passionate about fashion designing but was forced to pursue B.tech because it was cost friendly. This also proves that having many options does not automatically means that a person can choose.
Furthermore, earlier people did not have multiple choices due to lack of internet but now due to globalisation and access to social media people have knowledge on various sectors and people have multiple options. For example, when I asked my mom why did not study graphic designing she said that she was never aware of graphic designing course because it was not available in past nut now-a-days maximum every college have graphic design.
To conclude, people these days might be aware of multiple options but only some who are born with silver spoon have the privilege to choose. But in past times much options were not available to choose so comparatively these days people have better options. In present days having multiple choices and being able to choose between the options completely depends on the person's situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt, but the position is somewhat unclear due to the informal and slightly confusing opening statement ('I am Switzerland'). While the essay discusses the influence of socio-economic status and globalization on choice, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. The argument that 'having many options does not automatically mean that a person can choose' is a strong point, but it lacks sufficient depth. The conclusion attempts to summarize the main points, but the overall development of the argument is inconsistent, leading to a response that addresses the task but lacks the necessary depth for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'To conclude'. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and informal transitions. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the discussion of socio-economic status and the impact of the internet is somewhat abrupt. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the overall management of cohesion is mechanical rather than fluid.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher score. There are several instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'cost friendly' instead of 'affordable' and 'much options' instead of 'many options'. The use of idiomatic expressions like 'born with silver spoon' is slightly misused in context. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'globalisation' and 'graphic designing', the overall range is limited, and there are recurring errors in collocation that occasionally impede the natural flow of the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Examples include 'does not automatically means' (subject-verb agreement), 'one of my friend' (pluralization), and 'in past nut now-a-days' (spelling and punctuation). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage, which makes some sentences difficult to parse. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band, as the control over complex structures is not consistent.
