Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued that in modern times individuals have broad variety of choices. From my perspective I completely agree with this view because technology advancement provide us more and more possibilities to choose every day and it's going to increase.
First and foremost, there are clear reasons why nowadays we have so many choices. For instance a lot of sellers and producers are interested in growing amount of different types of particular item for better sales. To illustrate, customers are more inclined to do a purchase when store provides a variety types of its goods. Consequently, buyers by their behaivor encourages producents to create more and more produts.
Furthermore, I believe that we also meet a huge range of choices in the internet. For example, we consistently have to choose what film to see, what article to read, what music to listen, what app to install and another questions. This decisions became a part of our daily life . As a result we can't imagine our daily routine without choosing one amoung big amout of options.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly taking a stance in agreement with the statement that modern life offers too many choices. The writer attempts to present reasons, noting consumer trends and digital media consumption. However, the task achievement is significantly undermined by the severe length penalty, as the response contains only 177 words, falling well short of the 250-word minimum requirement. Consequently, the ideas are underdeveloped and the explanation lacks the necessary depth and extension expected for an Academic Task 2 essay. While a clear position is stated, the arguments regarding marketing and internet options remain brief and insufficiently supported with concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates an overall logical arrangement, dividing ideas into a clear introduction and two body paragraphs. The writer uses basic cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'To illustrate', and 'Furthermore' to structure the response. However, paragraphing is underdeveloped due to the overall shortness of the text, and referencing is occasionally faulty, such as in the phrase 'another questions', which disrupts smooth progression. Cohesive devices are somewhat mechanical rather than flexible, but the fundamental flow of ideas remains decipherable, warranting a solid Band 5.0 for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical resource displays a limited but minimally adequate range for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'technological advancement', 'inclined', and 'consumers', but these are accompanied by noticeable word choice, spelling, and morphological errors. Examples include 'broad variety' (missing an article), 'technology advancement' (incorrect form), 'do a purchase' (unnatural collocation), 'behaivor' (spelling error), 'producents' (non-standard word choice for producers), 'produts' (spelling error), 'amoung' (spelling error), and 'big amout' (inappropriate phrasing). These errors occasionally cause slight strain for the reader, aligning the vocabulary profile with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'It is often argued that...' and 'To illustrate, customers are more inclined to do a purchase when...'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors across the text. Noticeable errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('this decisions became'), missing articles ('in modern times individuals have broad variety'), and preposition misuse ('in the internet' instead of 'on the internet'). While the meaning is generally communicated despite these lapses, the high frequency of grammatical mistakes prevents the score from reaching Band 6.0.
