Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The student addresses all parts of the prompt by stating a clear position of complete agreement and supporting it with relevant examples regarding careers, courses, and migration. The ideas are extended and supported, such as discussing how AI courses and migration options provide better opportunities. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise in places, and some arguments could be explored with greater depth. The response satisfies the criteria for Band 7, as a clear position is maintained throughout with well-selected supporting points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing distinct aspects of the prompt, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'For instance', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', but some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in structure (e.g., 'Examining the brighter side...'). Referencing is generally clear, though paragraph boundaries and transitions could flow more smoothly to reach the highest bands. Overall, this demonstrates the characteristics of Band 6.5 to 7.0, and fits comfortably within Band 7.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate to sufficient range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using less common items such as 'myriad of options', 'modernized era', and 'skill-based courses'. However, there are noticeable lexical and word-choice inaccuracies, such as 'agree' with a singular subject ('I completely agrees'), 'choose about', and 'coice of people'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the lexical score from reaching Band 7. The vocabulary is sufficient for Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and subordinate structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('I completely agrees'), punctuation errors ('choices available, nowadays'), fragmented sentences ('For instance, if people are not willing to enroll in the science subjects for their higher education. They can probaby...'), and spelling mistakes ('probaby', 'othe', 'peope'). These errors occasionally disrupt the reading flow, aligning the response with Band 6 criteria where simple and complex structures are mixed with persistent errors.
