Student answer (Band 5.0)

A group of people argues that there are many choices available for people in today's time.

To begin with, It is true that there are much more options to select compared to past. The options are not for a particular domain but it applies to other domains as well. For example Online shopping, Entertainment and other Applications. There are many options available for person to select, that is a positive thing from a perspective, but it has a con also where too many options creates confusion, stress or extra time for person. A article of United States says that giving options to user or consumer had increased the habit of frequent purchasing of useless items where they regret that they should have take action while purchasing.

Moreover, online applications such as amazon where there is huge number of consumer who visit the website, it had been seen that people tend to get exhaust when they see dozens of option just particular small thing where it might disappoint them.

Also in Entertainment field where a person had taken subscription from a platform in order to watch a movie, but it is not available they have to get another application subscription to watch it. If we talk about trending option which is Artificial Intelligence, it has more variety and option that creates confusion for a user that which application will benefit them.

In conclusion, I agree that there are many choice available for people compared to past, but it has negative impact also if not taken seriously.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by discussing the idea that we have too many choices nowadays and explicitly states an opinion in the conclusion ("I agree that there are many choice available"). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The essay touches upon various domains like online shopping, entertainment, and artificial intelligence, but these points are generally under-developed and lack fully elaborated examples. For instance, the reference to an "article of United States" is vague and unsupported. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of argument aligns more closely with Band 5 or 6 criteria, where ideas are introduced but not fully extended.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at paragraphing. However, the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices are sometimes used awkwardly or mechanically, such as "To begin with, It is true that..." and "Moreover, online applications such as amazon where there is huge number of consumer...". Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the internal flow of ideas within paragraphs feels disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but overall structural control demonstrates typical Band 5 characteristics.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon relevant concepts such as "consumer," "subscription," and "artificial intelligence." However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as "much more options" instead of "many more options," "con also where too many options creates" (subject-verb agreement and lexical mismatch), and "exhaust" instead of "exhausted." Less common vocabulary is attempted but frequently inaccurate, placing the lexical performance solidly at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ("too many options creates", "a person had taken... but it is not available they have to get"), pluralization ("many choice", "dopins of option"), and article usage ("A article of United States"). Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present (e.g., lowercase "amazon"). While these errors do not completely obscure the writer's meaning, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.
