Student answer (Band 4.5)

In todays world people are more practical and confident about what they are doing because they have too many choices in every feild so they choose what is better for them.

I completely agree with this statement that nowadays we have too many choices from my experience and observation i also beleive that today we have more options and varieties in every feild for example if a student complete his intermediate with medical sciences but still he could not acheive the percentage for MBBS so now he has another choice which is pharmd which is quiet similarl to MBBS so similarly in every feild rather it is food, clothes even education and profession we have different options to choose before in old times people did not have so many choices they used to had same type of food and same type of clothes but today world has changed and we have lot of options to choose it is also even a problem for some people that they have too many choices that it is difficult for them to choose once me and my friend went to mall to busy a camera at first we thought it will be a easy task but when we eneter the shop the seller shows us a hundred type of cameras and told us to choose according to our budget and need it was very difficult for us to choose between so many choices

so over all from my own knowledge and experience i completely agree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that we do have too many choices nowadays, supporting this view with examples such as medical education and shopping for cameras. However, the development of ideas lacks sufficient extension and depth, tending toward simple listing rather than thorough analysis. Furthermore, the response is written as one continuous, unbroken block of text with virtually no paragraph breaks, which hinders the overall task response and development. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the limited depth and lack of structural division place this performance firmly at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

Coherence is severely compromised by the complete absence of paragraphing; the entire essay is written as a single, massive run-on sentence separated only by commas and lowercase conjunctions. There is no clear organizational progression or logical structuring of introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive (using 'so', 'and', and 'similarly' excessively), and punctuation is largely neglected throughout the text. These critical structural and cohesive flaws limit the score to Band 4.0 according to the descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and limited in range ('choices', 'options', 'feild', 'food', 'clothes'). There are frequent spelling errors such as 'todays', 'feild', 'beleive', 'quiet' instead of 'quite', 'similarl', and 'eneter'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'practical', 'intermediate', and 'budget', but these are overshadowed by repetitive phrasing and inadequate lexical variety for a higher band. Communication is occasionally strained by these lexical limitations, aligning the response with Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical structure is heavily reliant on run-on sentences joined by commas, failing to use proper full stops or capital letters to separate thoughts. There is a very limited range of structures, with frequent errors in basic sentence construction, capitalization, and punctuation. For example, sentences begin with lowercase letters and stretch across multiple lines without terminal punctuation. While simple structures are sometimes accurate, attempts at complex sentences result in faulty grammar and heavy punctuation errors that frequently cause difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 4.0 criteria.
