Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student addresses the prompt by stating an agreement with the idea that we have too many choices nowadays. A position is presented, and some relevant ideas are introduced, such as the impact of technology, career opportunities, and educational experiences. However, the development of these ideas remains limited and somewhat repetitive. Phrases like 'In this eassy I will provide reasons and examples from my own perspective' are formulaic and add little substantive content. While all parts of the task are touched upon, the arguments lack sufficient extension and detailed examples, resulting in an under-developed response that aligns best with Band 5 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into identifiable paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, fulfilling basic structural requirements. However, the overall progression is disrupted by mechanical and sometimes inadequate cohesive devices. Phrases such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the logical links between sentences and clauses are frequently weak or confusing, as seen in transitions like 'So, we can used internet for fields which is one of the most important for us.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, and paragraphing could be managed more effectively to ensure a smoother flow of ideas, placing the performance at Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally strain communication. Examples include 'eassy' instead of essay, 'bussiness' instead of business, 'compaire' instead of compare, and 'fucos' instead of focus. While the student attempts some less common terms like 'creativity' and 'opportunities,' noticeable errors in collocations and word forms—such as 'bring a lot issues towards people work'—restrict the lexical range to a minimally adequate level, reflecting a Band 5 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside poorly controlled complex attempts. Frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('AI bring a lot issues'), incorrect preposition usage ('towards their field'), and tense inconsistencies. For example, the sentence 'They can build up within themself by creating several kinds of works or bussiness' exhibits both lexical and structural faults. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar from reaching a Band 6 level.
