Student answer (Band 5.0)
In modern world there is too much technological advancement in the future and people also my too many choices which have made them confusion on what to choose and what not to choose , i agreed with this statement of people because technology has given people too many choices to pick from In today's world were we lived in there is technology everywhere . Let's me take a simple example of mobile phone that we kept with ourselves everywhere we go there too many choices on it also people can chose any phone they like like some people like apple and some like oppo i guess there are too many choices on mobile phone which make the people confuse in there thinking on what to choose and what not to choose .
Furthermore, having too many choices is also an privilege lets me illustrate you an example let's take a product like soap i guess, if it is being made by single company in the whole world and no other company in the whole world makes it then what will happen there will be monopoly of the brand and there will be no product advancements and the brand will charge the customer to its own liking and the brand will exploit the customer to it own liking so because of this i said that i agreed with the statement that having too many choices is a privilege in this sense .
In the end, the conclusion is that having too many choices is privilege in some sense and is a disaster in some sense

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether we have too many choices nowadays. The student manages to present a position, initially agreeing that choices cause confusion, but then pivoting in the second paragraph to argue that choices are actually a privilege to avoid monopolies, ultimately concluding in the final sentence that it is both a privilege and a disaster. While ideas are present, they are somewhat contradictory and under-developed, relying on simple illustrations such as mobile phones and soap. The connection between technology, choice, and consumer exploitation is introduced but lacks depth and clear extension, aligning best with a Band 5 descriptor where ideas are limited and the overall position becomes slightly muddled by the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into three paragraphs, including a very brief concluding sentence. Progression is difficult to follow because the text relies heavily on run-on sentences, repetitive phrasing like 'what to choose and what not to choose', and conversational dialogue markers such as 'Let's me take a simple example' and 'lets me illustrate you an example'. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun usage referring to abstract nouns. Paragraphing is attempted, but the conclusion is underdeveloped as a standalone sentence. This reflects Band 4 to Band 5 characteristics, leaning toward Band 5 due to the basic overall arrangement.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent occurrences of phrases like 'too many choices' and 'to its own liking'. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'people also my too many choices' (presumably meaning 'make' or 'have') and 'is also an privilege'. Attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'monopoly' and 'advancements', are somewhat successful, but general word choice and collocation are frequently awkward or inaccurate. Spelling errors like 'confusion' instead of 'confused' further limit the score. The range is minimally adequate for the task, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay features a very limited range of grammatical structures, heavily dominated by long, run-on simple and compound sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions or missing punctuation entirely. There is a lack of control over complex sentence forms, and punctuation is largely absent, resulting in sentences that drag on. Frequent errors in grammar, such as subject-verb agreement and word form issues ('make the people confuse in there thinking'), cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning at times. These characteristics firmly place the grammatical performance at Band 4.
