Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's rapidiy evolving world the topic of choices regarding various products and services has sparked considerable debate amoung the individuals and experts alike. While there are valid arguments in support of and against this issue it remain a matter of personal values, social pirorties and broader global trends. I largely, inclined to disagree with this statment. The essay will explore both prespectives in detail before presenting a reasoned conclusion based on logical anlysics and parctial implications.

To begin with, there are severel reasons why people support the idea of too many choices because the world is become a global vilage now a days. One of the most prominent arguments is that it can lead to esay onilne shopping of any iteam related to human necessity which in term contribute to long-term individual and societal growth. For example, numerous studies shows that social media is the center of attention because everyone nowadays use it for there advertisment for various products and services.Taken together, these pionts suggests that this approach is not only justifiable but also pontentialy more substainable in modren contaxt.

Futhermore, there are also opposite prespectives in favour of too many choices that people have nowadays becasue it has negtive consequences on many contries economy. In other words, a large ratio of young people are become brand-conscious and perfer to buy clothes and other things from established brands in the world. For example, in Pakistan and India 90% of youth has spend around 200 million dollors in the first Qtr of 2026 on the luxry items.

In conclusion, both views have their own merits and limitations. But I tend to believe we should stop buying more from other brands.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the prompt by stating an inclination to disagree with the statement that we have too many choices today. However, the development of ideas lacks clarity and relevance in places. For example, in the second paragraph, the argument shifts confusingly to online shopping and social media advertising rather than directly discussing the volume of choices. Furthermore, the third paragraph attempts to argue in favor of having too many choices by claiming it negatively impacts economies, which creates confusion regarding the writer's actual stance. While a position is stated in the introduction, the supporting ideas are somewhat disconnected from the core prompt, leading to under-developed arguments. This places the response firmly at Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response features basic paragraphing, dividing the essay into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow due to abrupt shifts in ideas and awkward transitions. Cohesive devices are frequently misused or mechanical, such as 'To begin with', 'One of the most prominent arguments', and 'Futhermore', which fail to accurately signal the logical relationship between sentences. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrase 'this approach' without a clear antecedent. The conclusion is overly abrupt and fails to synthesize the main points effectively. These issues reflect Band 5 Coherence and Cohesion characteristics.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and contains numerous spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication. Throughout the text, there are noticeable spelling mistakes, such as 'rapidiy' instead of 'rapidly', 'amoung' instead of 'among', 'pirorties' instead of 'priorities', 'anlysics' instead of 'analysis', 'parctial' instead of 'practical', 'severel' instead of 'several', 'vilage' instead of 'village', 'onilne' instead of 'online', 'iteam' instead of 'item', 'term' instead of 'terms', 'shows' instead of 'show', 'use' instead of 'uses', 'there' instead of 'their', 'advertisment' instead of 'advertisement', 'pionts' instead of 'points', 'suggests' instead of 'suggest', 'pontentialy' instead of 'potentially', 'substainable' instead of 'sustainable', 'modren' instead of 'modern', 'contaxt' instead of 'context', 'prespectives' instead of 'perspectives', 'becasue' instead of 'because', 'negtive' instead of 'negative', 'contries' instead of 'countries', 'perfer' instead of 'prefer', 'spend' instead of 'spent', and 'luxry' instead of 'luxury'. These frequent errors restrict the lexical score to Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but these attempts are frequently marred by basic grammatical errors. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it remain a matter', 'studies shows', '90% of youth has spend'), tense consistency, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'I largely, inclined to disagree'). Punctuation is also problematic, with missing commas in introductory clauses and run-on sentences, such as 'To begin with, there are severel reasons why people support the idea of too many choices because the world is become a global vilage now a days.' Frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band.
