Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. I both agree and disagree with this statement. Everyone in this world have there own opinion in different things, the people who believe nowadays we have too many choices are correct, like if we see the ai takes place in almost every field not completely took place but things are getting easier with artificial intelligence. People are not scared anymore by taking risks in life because they think if they failed in one thing, they can do another thing.

If we see this in education then we have hundreds of different degree programs, one person have enough choice to pick in a degree program where he has interest. One more example is that if a person is graduated and after guraduation he have alot of skills and talent in his relted field. Unfortunately, he can't found a job in market, he has a great oprtunity to start his own work through freelancing. We can see so many people around us who are earning handsome amount online.

One of my friend is married and he has two kids and a wife to take care of, he is working in a company but he can't manage his expenses so he started working online after hsi job doing freelancing and now he earn handsome amount.

I can also disagree with this statement that some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices because i think if u have so many choices then you don't have one aim in life. You always roaming around and see what other people do.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses the prompt by expressing a mixed view, agreeing and disagreeing with the statement that we have too many choices nowadays. A position is presented, though it is somewhat vague and underdeveloped, especially in the concluding paragraph where the counter-argument is introduced abruptly. Ideas such as the impact of artificial intelligence, choices in degree programs, and freelancing are introduced as support, but they lack full extension and deep analysis. For example, the point about AI and risk-taking is stated briefly without concrete examples. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the arguments remain somewhat superficial and prone to generalisation. This places the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates some organisation, but overall progression is hindered by poor paragraphing and a lack of cohesive devices. The body paragraphs are clumped together without clear thematic separation, and some sentences feel disjointed. For instance, transitioning from artificial intelligence directly to education and freelancing lacks smooth transitional phrases. Reference words are occasionally unclear or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'this' and 'they' without immediate antecedents. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, leading to a mechanical feel. However, the text is divided into paragraphs and has a discernible overall structure, supporting a Band 5.0 rating.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'artificial intelligence', 'freelancing', and 'expenses'. However, there are numerous noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and collocation that detract from the writing. Examples include 'guraduation' instead of graduation, 'alot' instead of a lot, 'relted' instead of related, 'oprtunity' instead of opportunity, and 'roaming around' instead of wandering or drifting. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader, and the attempt to use less common vocabulary results in frequent errors. This performance aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is limited, relying heavily on simple and compound sentences with frequent structural errors. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'Everyone in this world have there own opinion' instead of 'has their own opinion', and run-on sentences like 'one person have enough choice to pick in a degree program where he has interest.' Punctuation is also problematic, particularly comma splices connecting independent clauses. Attempts at complex sentences are often faulty and obscure meaning in places, such as the final sentence regarding choices and having an aim in life. Frequent errors cause noticeable strain for the reader, indicating a Band 5.0 level.
