Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays people have more choices than ever prior to in many aspects of life, including education, career, goals, entertainment and shopping. While some people believe that too many options can cause problems. I strongly agree with this point beacuse an excessive number of choices can cause confusion and stress.
One major disadvantage of having too many choices that can make decision making difficult. When people have a large amount of budget they are spending more money on their shopping and wastage things that are not relating to their lives. For example, when we are shopping online we are watching similar things on many different pages and their prices are also different that make cause confusion and worry that may not selected the best option. In addition, this can lead stress and dissatisfaction even after making decision.
Another problem is that having the numerous choices can create unrealistic expectation, people, may compare their decision with other available alternatives. For instance, students should take their admission in one university for their career and better education and path. Moreover, this provides freedom, students may feel to chosse the course because they are aware of many possibilities. Consequently, may they regret with courses they they had choosed.
Moreover, a wide range of choices have make advantages. people have freedom to choose anything that makes them delighted, interest and financial strong. For example, consumers can see different prices and many other things when purchasing electronics.
In conclusion, although having many choices gives people greater freedom and opportunities. From my perspective that too any option can make decion-making more stressful and complicated. Therefore, people should focus on personal needs rather than to trying to find the perfect choices among countless alternatives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and takes a clear position throughout, agreeing that we have too many choices and that this leads to stress and confusion. The ideas are generally relevant, but the development is somewhat limited and occasionally wanders. For instance, the paragraph discussing the advantages of choices feels rushed and disjointed from the main argument. The supporting examples, such as online shopping and university course selection, are understandable but lack precise elaboration, resulting in a tendency to over-generalise. While the main stance is maintained, deeper exploration of the psychological or societal impact of choice overload would have elevated the task response. Overall, the performance aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, such as decision-making difficulties and unrealistic expectations. However, cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, sentences like 'Consequently, may they regret with courses they they had choosed' demonstrate awkward referencing and clumsy transitions. Additionally, the abrupt inclusion of the counter-argument about advantages in the fourth paragraph disrupts the logical progression of the text. Transitional phrases are occasionally used incorrectly, which impacts the flow. These characteristics are representative of a Band 6 performance.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'excessive number', 'dissatisfaction', and 'unrealistic expectation'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation throughout the text. Examples include 'wastage things' instead of wasted items, 'may not selected' instead of not selecting, and 'financial strong' instead of financially stable. Spelling errors, such as 'beacuse' and 'chosse', also occur. While these lexical slips and awkward collocations do not impede general communication, they prevent the response from achieving a higher band, placing it firmly at Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb forms, sentence fragments, and prepositions, such as 'that can make decision making difficult' missing a verb, 'may make cause confusion', and 'regret with courses they they had choosed'. Punctuation is also problematic in places, notably creating sentence fragments where independent clauses are incorrectly separated or linked. Although these errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and distract from the argument, the meaning remains mostly clear, fitting the criteria for a Band 5.5 score, rounded to 5.5.
