Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices, as with the time period everything is becoming digital and people have easy access to technology. People take help from the technolgy to do their word easily and timely the don't have to think too much.

Also in the world with the need of the people the opportunities are also increasing with time period. People have the easy access to eduaction and have many choices to study. After there studies they also have the choices of the jobs.

People have choices according to there need and they have access to everything, they can do anything according to there abilities.People have the choice to choose there profession, studies, field and opportunities.

According to my own knowledge, I would say that in early ages people don't know about what to study and there were not more options peoples have to think for there self but after completing there studies they have no choice of proffession they have to wait for year to find a good job according there degree. In this situation some time people have to accept unsatisfactory job to make money and to live there life but in nowadays people can easily access the internet and with the use if technolgy they can find there desired job. They also have choice to word online.

A simple example, I will give that back in 2019 during the covid when there was lockdown a crisis in whole over the world but people have the choice to work online with the use of technology. Like this an other simple example is that in early ages people have to go and to drop CV at every place and have to find jobs advertisment but nowadays they can easily access this thing on internet.

I agree with this that nowadays we have too many choices in my life like, i have easy access to everything by the use of technology i am able to do my every work easily and on time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether people have too many choices nowadays, mainly focusing on technology, education, and employment opportunities. A clear position is stated in the conclusion where the writer agrees with the statement. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive, as seen when the writer repeatedly mentions that people have choices according to their needs and abilities without expanding deeply into the psychological or societal implications of having too many choices. Furthermore, the examples provided, such as mentioning the COVID-19 pandemic and dropping CVs, are simple and briefly stated rather than fully elaborated. Consequently, the task response aligns well with the Band 5 descriptors, as the ideas are somewhat under-developed and limited in scope, though all parts of the prompt are touched upon.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is organized into multiple paragraphs, attempting to cover introduction, body points, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt transitions and repetitive sentence structures, such as starting multiple sentences with 'People have choices...' or 'According to my own knowledge...'. Cohesive devices are used minimally or repetitively ('Also', 'In this situation some time', 'Like this an other simple example'), and paragraphing is rather erratic, with some very short and underdeveloped paragraphs. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which forces the reader to work harder to follow the progression of thought. These features place the response firmly at Band 5 for Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on everyday words and phrases such as 'easy access', 'technology', 'choices', and 'jobs'. There are also frequent word choice and collocation errors, such as 'take help from the technolgy to do their word easily', 'there studies', 'there need', 'for there self', 'proffession', and 'jobs advertisment'. Spelling mistakes are noticeable throughout the text (e.g., 'technolgy', 'eduaction', 'proffession'). While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic message regarding choices and technology, the lack of a wider range and the persistent inaccuracies prevent the response from achieving a higher band score, making Band 4.5 or 5.0 appropriate. A score of 5.0 is awarded as communication is generally maintained despite the lexical limitations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or poorly coordinated attempts at complex sentences, frequently resulting in run-on sentences and punctuation errors, such as 'People take help from the technolgy to do their word easily and timely the don't have to think too much.' Grammatical errors are frequent throughout the response, including subject-verb agreement issues, tense inconsistencies (shifting between present and past inappropriately, e.g., 'back in 2019... but people have the choice'), and preposition errors. Errors often cause difficulty and strain for the reader, matching the key characteristics of Band 4.5 or 5.0 descriptors for grammatical accuracy and range.
