Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people assume that nowadays we have abundant choices.
I completely agree with the belief. We are in a modern and revelutionary phase where we have access to unlimited internet data which helps us to provide or search information within seconds if not we have different AI powered tools to make our life simple and easy.
During my final semester examinations Chat GPT helped me prepare for my exams it helped me analyse and understand complex engineering topics with ease.
Furthermore, Due to the benevolent prejudice which prevailed in the past, many parents today are not forcing today's generation kids to choose a carrer, instead they are motivating and supporting them to perform well.
My nephew who is 10 years older than me is pursuing a carrer in content creation on social media platforms like instagram and youtube, when asked he said his father supported him on this decision.
In addition to this, with the advancements in the field of science and technology there are many paths opened for children to take up. Moreover there are many government schemes which are aimed at benefiting youngsters. Such initiatives were not present much in the older generation. We also have the support and opportunity from our family to study abroad at some of the most notable and popular universities like Oxford, Stanford, CalTech.
Hence, I conclude by saying We have a lot of technological resources as well as support in our hands which makes our life simple and easy this gives the feeling of having multiple choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The student successfully addresses the prompt by clearly stating their position in the introduction ("I completely agree with the belief") and maintaining it throughout the essay. Relevant ideas are presented to support this position, such as technological advancements including AI tools like ChatGPT, and changing parental attitudes towards career choices. However, some of these ideas are somewhat under-developed or rely on personal anecdotes rather than broader societal analysis. For instance, the example about the nephew pursuing a career in content creation supports the point well, but the argument could have been extended further to fully meet the Band 7 threshold. Therefore, a band score of 6.5 is appropriate for Task Achievement as all parts of the task are addressed with a clear position, but the depth of development is slightly limited.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established from the beginning. The student attempts to use cohesive devices such as "Furthermore", "In addition to this", and "Moreover" to connect ideas. However, paragraphing is a noticeable weakness; the entire body of the essay is compressed into just two overly long paragraphs, and the conclusion is awkwardly merged with the final sentence. Referencing and logical progression are sometimes faulty due to run-on sentences and a lack of clear internal structure within paragraphs. Overall, the essay demonstrates basic cohesion, fitting the Band 5.5 descriptor as the flow is hindered by poor paragraphing and mechanical transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as "abundant choices", "AI powered tools", "benevolent prejudice", and "technological resources". However, there are notable spelling errors, such as "revelutionary" (revolutionary) and repeated misspellings of "carrer" (career). Furthermore, word choice and collocation are occasionally awkward, such as "helping us to provide or search information". While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, the presence of frequent spelling and lexical slips keeps the score at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures. There are, however, frequent grammatical errors, particularly run-on sentences and punctuation issues. For instance, sentences like "We are in a modern and revelutionary phase where we have access to unlimited internet data which helps us to provide or search information within seconds if not we have different AI powered tools to make our life simple and easy" lack necessary commas and conjunctions, creating comma splices and confusion. Although communication is not severely impeded, the accumulation of grammatical inaccuracies and punctuation flaws prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, making 5.5 a fair reflection of the writer's control.
