Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, an increasing number of people think that there are several options available for everything in the market whether its any product or service. I largely agree with this phenomenon that I will discuss in upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons.

One of the prominent reason behind my agreement is that there is every product present in different forms irrespective their their colour, price and size. Sometimes people easily get the second or even first copy of that particular thing. For instance, in the market 5 rupees as well as 500 rupees chocolate is available in various flavours such as dark , fruit &nut and vanilla etc. Similar, in terms of services there are numerous hospitals and educational institutes, whosoever facilities one like can choose. As a result, this practice makes customer free to choose without anything imposed on them.

This trend is increasing because of greater mass production and consumerism because companies are doing production at a large level to fulfill the needs of an individual. Despite the authentic and highly patent items such as any book published by an author can't have any extact material available. However, variations has took a place everywhere such as buying any new phone can be a troublesome because oft the various companies's gadgets are existing in this modernised era. Recently, I phone duo launched a double fold feature in their new model phones, the same features align in Samsung galaxy as well. Therefore, options are presented everywhere.

In conclusion, although some products are original and genuine may not be available in many options but mostly services and facilities often have too many choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing with the prompt that we have too many choices nowadays. The main ideas are generally relevant and supported with examples, such as the availability of different types of chocolates, hospitals, and smartphones like Samsung and iPhone. However, some arguments lack deep development and tend to generalise quickly, for instance, the reference to '5 rupees as well as 500 rupees chocolate'. The conclusion also introduces slight confusion by stating 'some products are original and genuine may not be available in many options'. While the ideas are adequate for a passing response, they are not fully extended, fitting the criteria for Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, although the body paragraphs are somewhat dense and could be broken down further. Cohesive devices are used throughout the text, but some links feel mechanical or awkward, such as 'Similar, in terms of services' and 'Despite the authentic and highly patent items'. Referencing and substitution also occasionally falter, for instance, 'irrespective their their colour' and 'oft the various companies's gadgets are existing'. Progression is present, but mechanical phrasing and occasional awkward transitions place this criterion at a Band 6.0 level.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student attempts less common vocabulary throughout the response, utilizing items such as 'prominent reason', 'mass production', 'consumerism', and 'modernised era'. However, there are frequent noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and collocation. Examples include 'irrespective their their colour' (repetition/preposition error), 'extact material', 'variations has took a place', and 'I phone duo'. Vocabulary is adequate for the task and communication is generally maintained, but errors in word formation and spelling restrict the score to a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including relative clauses and conditional-style reasoning (e.g., 'whosoever facilities one like can choose' and 'buying any new phone can be a troublesome because oft the various companies's gadgets are existing'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'One of the prominent reason', 'irrespective their their colour', 'variations has took a place', and 'oft the various companies's gadgets'. Punctuation and article use also need attention. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, this warrants a Band 5.0.
