Student answer (Band 5.0)
some people believe that nowadays too many choices and some believe that choices are still limited it all depends on the conditions in which peoples were living and the financial condition of the peoples
the people who has money and were living in a good residental areas mean big cities were have lot of options and choices while on the other hand peoples who were living in a rural and local areas like villages and small town have less choices and opportunities may be we would consider it in the aspect of food or for work opportunities or medical treatment opportunities.
i think this rule was same from the time of adam that people who has money got more opportunities as compared to those people who has no money.
but nowadays the days in which we are living there is a lot of choices for people in careers in intertainment and treatments
but too many choices could also be dangerous as if we have too many choices in our career and too many opportunities we could misss them in perspect of other one and eventually it would fail because of too many opportunitues so in this perspect too many choices could be dangerous but at all it was not as dangerous as we think it also provide diffrent paths at different points of our life so we could say that too many choices are helpful and in perspect of money in this modren and increased technolical world where we have defeated lot of diseases there is still barriares for people to got that opportunities of life is still limited because they have no money

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially, presenting a position that suggests choices depend heavily on financial status and geographical location. However, the ideas are limited and somewhat under-developed. For instance, the writer mentions that people in big cities have more options regarding food, work, and medical treatment compared to rural areas, but this point is not fully extended with specific examples. Similarly, the discussion on whether too many choices are dangerous touches on career paths and missed opportunities, but the reasoning becomes circular and lacks clear elaboration. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to present a more fully developed position with well-supported arguments throughout the essay, ensuring that each main idea is explored thoroughly rather than stated briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation evident in the essay, as the writer attempts to contrast the lives of wealthy urban residents with rural inhabitants and later weighs the pros and cons of having numerous options. However, there is no clear overall progression or logical structure guiding the reader through the text. The response lacks effective paragraphing, appearing largely as a single massive block of text with only two major breaks that do not correspond well to distinct stages of the argument. Furthermore, cohesive devices are virtually absent or used inadequately, relying instead on repetitive conjunctions like 'and' or run-on phrasing such as 'so in this perspect too many choices could be dangerous but at all it was not...'. Improving cohesion will require grouping ideas logically into properly formatted paragraphs and using a wider, more accurate range of linking words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about wealth, opportunities, and modern technology. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'financial condition', 'residental areas', and 'technolical world', but these attempts are marred by noticeable spelling errors and imprecise word choices. For example, 'residental' is misspelled, 'intertainment' is incorrect, and phrases like 'barriares for people to got that opportunities' demonstrate persistent word-form and collocation issues. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the precise meaning intended. To improve, the writer must expand their working vocabulary, pay closer attention to standard word forms, and check spelling carefully to ensure clearer communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple clauses strung together with coordinating conjunctions and punctuation errors like missing periods and capital letters. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to run-on sentences such as the final sentence in the response. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'the people who has money' instead of 'have', and 'peoples were living' instead of 'people were living'. These frequent grammatical errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and restrict the text to a lower category. To progress, the writer needs to focus on sentence boundaries, punctuation control, and accurate verb-subject agreement across various sentence patterns.
