Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many people believed that the young generation are more privilaged or had abundant life choices. I strongly agree with this statement that such choices gives unnecessary stress or confusion.
To commence with, having too many choices make decision making difficult and its time consuming. For instance, when a person has to choose a mobile phone they have so many options available to compared to get the right one which makes the individual overwhelmed. Since the choices provide a person with greater deals but still it is very time consuming and require a lot of efforts to select one. As these cause a person feel anxious and fatigue. Moreover, individual stop valuing their jobs and career while having uncountable opportunities to explore. Since they stop improving their limitation instead of that they move to a new occupation which is not very ethical and dignified.
However, it is undeniable that more options bring freedom and opportunities but it lead the person to an unsatisfactory results. For example, while choosing a career a person always feel that he has too many choices and he was not able to decide the right occupation for themselves. Therefore, he often feel that he can choose something better. This provides very unpleasant experience to individuals.
In conclusion, Although there are numerous advantages of having greater opportunities or choices but still i believe that the young generation has more responsibilities or stress to choose a right decision which not only productive but also became time and energy efficient.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear and consistent position that modern life choices cause unnecessary stress and confusion. Relevant ideas are presented, such as the difficulty of decision-making regarding mobile phones and careers. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack full extension. For instance, the point about individuals stopping valuing their jobs and careers is introduced but not thoroughly explained or supported with a clear example. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to fully develop all main points with more detailed explanations and robust supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance and distinct paragraphing, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'To commence with' and 'However' are used, but referencing within and between sentences is not always clear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in 'he often feel that he can choose something better'. Additionally, progression is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing and abrupt transitions. To improve, the writer should ensure smoother logical links between ideas and more precise referencing throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'uncountable opportunities', 'anxious and fatigue', and 'dignified'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'privilaged', 'gives unnecessary stress', and 'unsatisfactory results' instead of 'unsatisfactory result' or 'dissatisfaction'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect limitations in lexical control. To achieve a higher band, the writer should focus on expanding vocabulary precision and improving collocational accuracy when attempting more sophisticated terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause some difficulty for the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement errors ('many people believed', 'such choices gives', 'choices make'), tense inconsistencies, article misuse ('to compared', 'the right decision'), and awkward clause structures. While communication is generally maintained, the frequency of these grammatical slips keeps the accuracy at this level. To progress, the writer must focus on basic grammatical accuracy, verb tense consistency, and correct subject-verb agreement in complex sentences.
