Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses the task only minimally. The writer presents a stance indicating agreement with the statement, but the ideas are limited and under-developed. For instance, the mention that 'people have different chices in different field, for example each and everywhere there are many choice of brand' is repetitive and lacks extension or concrete examples from personal experience. The introduction also includes copied fragments from the prompt. To move to a higher band, the writer must ensure all parts of the prompt are explored more fully with well-supported arguments and relevant examples that directly address why we have too many choices today.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Information and ideas are not arranged in a fully coherent manner, though paragraphing is attempted. The overall progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak transitional links, such as 'Ti begin with the' and 'Moving on to consider the another fact that'. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical development of ideas across sentences. To improve, the writer needs to ensure a clearer overall progression of ideas, use cohesive devices more accurately without mechanical repetition, and structure paragraphs so that each has a distinct, logically connected central topic.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, employing a limited range appropriate for this level. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'nowadys', 'chices', 'field' instead of 'fields', 'iem', 'slect', 'perfer', 'whent', and 'infulence'. These errors sometimes strain the reader, although basic communication is generally maintained. To achieve a higher band, the writer should build a broader vocabulary range, pay closer attention to word formation, and minimise spelling mistakes through careful proofreading.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, plurals, and article usage, such as 'the most evident one drives from the fact' instead of 'stems from', and missing articles in 'different factor affect in peoples choices'. Punctuation errors are also present, and sentence boundaries are occasionally obscured. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over basic grammatical structures, improve subject-verb agreement, and reduce the frequency of errors that impede smooth reading.
