Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, to live a better life people have many choices. Many people believe that they can spent their lives by their own choices because they have many option like about the food, accomodation and clothes. I compeletely agree with this notion that we have many diffferent choices.
To begin with the first reason is accommodation. To elaborate, nowadays people have all facilties to enjoy a better life in their homes. In the past people often suffered for their accommodaton and they did not have a good source of income so that they can live a happy life but in the present individuals have plenty of option. For instance many people have a good acommodation for their families as well as farm houses for enjoyment. Furthermore, variety of foods available nowadays. To explain with the help of import and export bussinesses people can enjoy new variety of foods. For example, some type of fruits which need to grow to grow different weather conditions like strawberry and older generation was unable to get its benefits but nowadays people can enjoy variety of options.
In addition, in the past people often wear clothes to cover their body but in the present to wear new and stylish clothes has become a trend because people have vaiety of options. For example, with the help of internet individuals following new thrends like trend of stylish clothes just becase of they have choices.
Thus it can be concluded that it is true that people have too many choices for a better lifestyle and they prefer to eran it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially, presenting a clear position of complete agreement with the prompt. The writer introduces relevant areas such as accommodation, food, and clothing to support the argument. However, these ideas remain limited and under-developed. For example, while accommodation is mentioned, the explanation merely states that people have better homes now compared to the past without fully exploring the implications or depth of having too many choices. Similarly, the points regarding food and clothing are repetitive in their structure, relying on generic assertions that individuals have 'variety of options' and follow trends on the internet. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to extend the supporting examples with more specific details and ensure that every paragraph directly contributes to a fully developed discussion rather than skimming the surface of the main arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation in the response, featuring an introduction, distinct body paragraphs focusing on different aspects like accommodation and food, and a brief concluding sentence. However, the text lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, as seen in the frequent use of transition phrases like 'To begin with', 'To elaborate', and 'To explain' which feel mechanical and do not always logically connect the sentences. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the sudden shift into clothing in the third paragraph without a smooth transitional link. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within the paragraphs needs careful attention to guide the reader more fluidly from one supporting point to the next, avoiding choppy sentence structures and repetitive connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic ideas about lifestyle and choices. There is an attempt to use less common vocabulary, such as 'accommodation', 'facilties', and 'import and export bussinesses', but this is accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form. For instance, 'spent' is used instead of 'spend', 'compeletely' is misspelled, 'bussinesses' contains an extra letter, and 'vaiety' is flawed. Furthermore, awkward phrasing like 'people often wear clothes to cover their body' restricts the precision of the argument. To improve, the writer should focus on expanding their lexical range beyond everyday terms, paying closer attention to correct spelling and word formation, and ensuring that collocations are used accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer employs a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic compound forms. When attempts are made at complex sentences, they are often faulty, featuring frequent grammatical errors in verb tenses, articles, and prepositions inside grammatical patterns. Examples of errors include 'people have many option' (pluralisation error), 'fruits which need to grow to grow different weather conditions' (awkward relative clause and preposition misuse), and 'just becase of they have choices' (faulty clause structure). Punctuation and subject-verb agreement also show consistent lapses throughout the text, such as missing articles before singular countable nouns. To achieve a higher standard, the writer needs to produce a greater variety of error-free complex structures, exercising much tighter control over basic grammar rules, tense consistency, and punctuation.
