Student answer (Band 5.5)
I do agree with the given statement as if we will look at our surrounding we have much options in every respectives.
lets speak about health sector which is the basic need for mankind, there used to be a time when people had to travel across cities to visit some medical center or to find some medicine even the time schedules were having a huge impact on it like day time and night time but if we see now health facilities are almost easily accessible with more option at almost every place.more hospital more pharmacy store which made ease for public to get benefit.
in addition to it we can talk about food where we can easily find alot of option in terms of resturant where there is tradinational or fast food chains which made it ease for late hunger cravings and easily avialable at almost every corner while in past it was not the story
on the other hand in terms of clothes we can choose among different clothing brands depends on our likeness and budget as multiple options are avialable in the market providing a lot of option
similarly,on the mobile phones side there used to be a time where people had limited option like a single telephone and for that also they had to go through with many things which incurred more cost but currently this is not the case;in the market different mobile brands are competing providing a better facilities at compatative price which ultimately a benefit to user where he or she can choose as per their requirements and budget.
By above options and there are more that we can keep on the table to discuss i can conclude that modern days are better having more accesible options to us which direactly or indireactly benefits people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position that we nowadays have too many choices. Relevant ideas are introduced across various domains, such as the health sector, food, clothing, and mobile phones, satisfying the requirements for a mid-level score. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the section on clothing merely states that 'we can choose among different clothing brands depends on our likeness and budget' without offering further extension or specific examples. To move to a higher band, the writer would need to fully develop every supporting point with detailed elaboration and clear examples, ensuring a more balanced and thoroughly explored argument throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement, with a clear introduction and conclusion outlining the writer's stance. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear, which places the response at this level. The writer relies heavily on basic transition phrases like 'in addition to it', 'on the other hand', and 'similarly', without a wide variety of cohesive devices. Furthermore, paragraphing is underdeveloped; the entire body of the essay is presented as a single massive block of text rather than being divided into distinct paragraphs for each separate topic. To achieve a higher band, the writer must use clear paragraphing, separating each main idea, and employ a wider, more flexible range of cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common vocabulary related to modern conveniences, such as 'accessibility', 'cravings', and 'competative price'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text—such as 'respectives' instead of 'respects', 'tradinational' instead of 'traditional', and 'direactly'—that detract from precision. While these inaccuracies do not severely impede communication, they prevent the lexical score from rising. To reach the next band, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary range, improve spelling and word formation, and demonstrate greater control over less common lexical items and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct multi-clause sentences, such as 'there used to be a time where people had limited option like a single telephone and for that also they had to go through with many things...'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles, incorrect prepositions inside grammatical patterns ('go through with'), run-on sentences with incorrect punctuation (such as semicolon misuse), and issues with subject-verb agreement. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are persistent enough to cap the grammar score at this level. To improve, the writer should focus on mastering complex sentence structures, ensuring accurate punctuation, and reducing basic grammatical errors.
