Student answer (Band 5.0)
Few individual believe that in the present days we have a lot of choices. I strongly agree that we have a lot of choices such as work, study, or any kind of situations because individual nowadays have a freedom to choose.
It is often argued that individual should have right to choose, the main reason is that individual in the present day has a power in the society. This is because the public servant implement human rights in the world to have a dignity in each individual this is means that all people had right to choose what ever they want. For example, in goverment election people had a rights to choose what they want to become a leader in the society.
On the other hand, the main reason why I disagree it is because it has more individual who choose a miserable lifestyle. This is because they have a freedom to choose. For instance, in the Philippines it has a lot of drug addict, scammer, and cyber bullying because they can do what ever they want, especially children they adopt the wrong behavior because what they see in there surrouning.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that people has a various choices because it can give freedom to everyone, right to choose, and can choose on their own withouth relying for goverment officials.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the student's response contains only 223 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. The writer attempts to express a position regarding whether we have too many choices nowadays, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on human rights and government elections lacks sufficient extension and depth. Additionally, the third paragraph shifts abruptly into discussing a miserable lifestyle and social issues like drug addiction and cyberbullying, which lacks clear relevance to the core prompt about having too many choices and confuses the overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation with the use of paragraphing, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent, mechanical use of 'This is because' to link sentences and ideas. Referencing is also sometimes unclear, as seen in the phrase 'it has more individual who choose', which hinders the logical flow of arguments. While paragraphs are attempted, the transitions between the body paragraphs do not smoothly guide the reader through a well-structured line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The vocabulary used is often basic and repetitive, such as the constant reuse of words like 'choice', 'individual', and 'freedom'. There are noticeable errors in word form, choice, and collocation that can cause some difficulty for the reader, including 'Few individual' instead of 'Few individuals', 'goverment election' instead of 'government elections', and 'surrouning' instead of 'surroundings'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are generally unsuccessful or imprecise, preventing the writer from achieving a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences or faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent errors in grammar, articles, plurals, and subject-verb agreement are present throughout the text, such as 'people has a various choices' and 'all people had right'. Punctuation is also problematic, notably with run-on sentences containing comma splices like 'human rights in the world to have a dignity in each individual this is means that all people had right'. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader in fully grasping the intended meaning.
