Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that people recently have a large number of opportunities and choices. In my perspective I strongly agree with this concept.

To begin with, entertainment domain provides a numerous possibilities how to spend spare time. In other words, in the vacations, week-end, and also free days individuals and children have versatile ways to manage free time without going outside. For instance, regardig to nowadays technologies, and social media trends, the general public can spend time in streaming in digital plateforms, or scrolling in Tiktok, and other applications content, they may also follow live streams such as favourite streamers, or sports diffusions. Consequently, these different methods offer many choices in passing times and avoiding boring journeys compered to previous eras.

In addition, education in recent time undergoing beneficial development in several fields. Therefore, the world currently is lucky due to science improvement which is playing a crucial role in our lives, like learners or patients. The science has become more specific and comprises all small details, it is tengible in universities and higher education formations, for example in medical area in the actual days rare disease are without effcient drugs, or perfect protocols. To illustrate that in my studies field concerning the water, the university offers five specialities in only water analysis, detection, and extractions, namely Hydrogeology, Hydrolic, Geochemics, Geophysics, and water vulnirability. Finally, this multiplechoice provides for us a large liberty and mobility which has a lot of benefits for our societies, and it is a good advantageous for adressing and solving predictable, and unpredictable challenges.

In conclusion, in present it is clearly seen that our world achieved enhancment in choices and opportunities due to science and many factors. And last and not least I confirm and believe that nowadays have luck in the availibilty of many choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that people today have many choices. Both body paragraphs offer relevant reasons, focusing on entertainment and education, and the examples of streaming platforms and water-related university specialities help illustrate your points. However, the education paragraph shifts between scientific progress, medical treatment and course options, so the connection to having too many choices is not always clear. The response also mainly explains that choices are beneficial, rather than examining whether there are so many that this creates disadvantages or pressure. To develop the argument further, explain what “too many” means and support your position with a more direct discussion of its effects, while extending the less clear ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around different areas, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “In addition,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, some links are mechanical or do not clearly show how one point leads to the next. For example, the education paragraph moves from science’s role in patients’ lives to rare diseases and then to university specialities, without fully explaining the relationship between these examples. The conclusion repeats the general claim rather than drawing together the two reasons. Use clearer topic sentences and add explicit links between each example and your argument; vary transitions and use referencing carefully to make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “versatile,” “streaming,” “specialities,” and “challenges,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make ideas less precise. Examples include “a numerous possibilities,” “sports diffusions,” “multiplechoice,” and “a good advantageous.” Several expressions also sound unnatural, such as “passing times” and “in the actual days.” These issues limit the effectiveness of your attempts at less common vocabulary. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate wording, and check spelling and word forms carefully. For instance, “sports broadcasts” and “a wide range of options” would express your intended meanings more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “for example,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms. For example, “education in recent time undergoing” is missing a finite verb, while “rare disease are” has a number-agreement problem. The sentence beginning “The science has become more specific” joins several independent ideas with a comma, making the structure difficult to follow. The conclusion also has an incomplete construction in “nowadays have luck.” To improve, check that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, match singular and plural forms, and divide long sentences when they contain several separate claims.
