Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some proportion of pupils thinks that there are plenty of choices at present. I agree with this statement since there are several options and oppurtunities available in differnt aspects like jobs, education, relationships, travel. It is also beneficial when used appropriatley.
In terms of education, there are plenty of courses included which was not earlier offered by universities. For instance Animation is a new add on as an undergraduate and postgraduation degrees in some of the universities.
More options provide independence of choosing what their interests are and it helps them to acheieve in the same field.
Even Artifical intellegence have created plenty of options where students can pick the tutors and learn online according to their interest. These advantageous factors have made lives better and less dependant.
Even in selecting lifepartner there are various platforms currently which can geniunely help find the perfect one. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that people now have many choices, and you give relevant examples from education and relationships. The discussion of online courses and tutors explains how choice can support independence, while the contrast between modern ways of meeting partners and reliance on relatives adds a second relevant area. Your conclusion also recognises that choices can lead to distraction or poor decisions. This covers the task well, but the support is uneven: the education examples are briefly explained, and the relationship paragraph lists ways to meet people without fully showing why the greater number of options is beneficial or problematic. To strengthen the response further, develop each example with a clearer explanation and address more directly whether having too many choices can also create difficulties.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, moving from an introduction to two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs are generally focused on education and relationships, and transitions such as “For instance,” “Earlier,” and “However” help show examples and contrast. However, progression within some paragraphs is less controlled: the education paragraph moves from university courses to AI tutors and then to a broad claim about lives becoming better, with limited explanation linking these points. The relationship paragraph also becomes a long sequence of options, and the reference in “which can lead to marriage” is not fully clear. Use clearer topic sentences, divide long sequences into more manageable sentences, and make links between examples and your main argument explicit rather than relying mainly on basic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “independence,” “plethora,” “consequences,” and “diverted,” and these choices help express ideas about the benefits and risks of having many options. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “oppurtunities,” “differnt,” “acheieve,” and “geniunely.” Some combinations are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “courses included” and “perfect one,” while “options” and “choices” are repeated frequently. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully, learn common collocations as complete phrases, and vary repeated terms with accurate alternatives such as “alternatives” or “opportunities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which can lead to marriage” and a contrast introduced by “However.” Most of the intended meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “Some proportion of pupils thinks” has an awkward singular construction, and “there are plenty of courses included which was not earlier offered” contains agreement and clause-structure problems. In “Even Artificial intelligence have created,” the subject and verb do not agree. Punctuation also needs attention, particularly the run-on sequence beginning “where one can get a chance.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check each clause for a clear subject, correctly matched verb, and appropriate punctuation.
