Student answer (Band 6.0)
At present, some people believe that we have access to a considerable amount of choices. In recent years, because of various developments in the technology in most of the domains, provide numerous options for decision making. I agree with this viewpoint, as most individuals find difficulty in making a firm decision and are also relatively more confused than the previous time.
Various advancements in the technology resulted in higher number of outcomes or products available to the people for their review. For instance, in India, because of lack of automation in the earlier years in the field of clothing, there were not much variety available for clothes. However, at present, there are many choices available for both male and female. Additionally, earlier education was also limited to certain courses and degrees. As the time progressed, various research domains and online platforms outgrew and are now available as many career options for the students.
Furthermore, it is also observed psycologically as many people find complexity in making a sound decision. Confusion has been increased in recent times because of availability of various choices. For instance, in Gujarat, people find it difficult to decide upon their children's admission to a school, as there are many schools present having great facilities and experienced teachers. Although too many options create confusion, they are an indication of growth.
In summary, numerous choices are provided for any type of the field at the present moment, as a result of advancement and growth. Nowadays, most people lack decision making ability and have increased confusion levels that indicate the availability of various options. Although they have certain disadvantages, they are feasible as one can have variety of services or choices to look upto. Additionally it can also create satisfaction among certain people as their choices are present, which was not possible earlier.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that people now face many choices and connect this to difficulty making decisions. The examples about clothing, education and school selection in Gujarat are relevant, and the conclusion acknowledges both confusion and the benefits of variety. This covers the task well overall. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that people have less decision-making ability is not supported with a specific consequence or personal example, and the clothing example mainly shows increased availability rather than why this creates too many choices. Develop the reasoning behind each example and clarify the extent of your agreement to make the argument more consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from your position to reasons and examples, then to a summary. Paragraphs are generally focused, and signposts such as “For instance,” “Furthermore” and “In summary” help readers follow the argument. This gives the essay a coherent progression. Some links are less precise or feel mechanical, however. The final sentence of the third paragraph, “Although too many options create confusion, they are an indication of growth,” introduces a qualification without developing it there, while the conclusion repeats the ideas of confusion and variety rather than synthesising them. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as in “they are feasible,” where “they” could refer to choices or services. Use more precise links and make each paragraph’s relationship to your main position explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “advancements,” “automation,” “career options,” “decision” and “confusion,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing. However, several word choices and collocations are noticeably unnatural or imprecise, which limits clarity and flexibility. Examples include “a considerable amount of choices,” “higher number of outcomes,” “outgrew,” and “look upto.” “Psycologically” is also misspelled, and “at the present moment” is unnecessarily wordy. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than formal-sounding phrases: for example, use “a wide range of choices,” “a greater number of options,” and “expanded.” Check spelling and use a dictionary to verify collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “as” and “although,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur in sentence construction, agreement, articles and plurals. For example, “because of various developments … provide numerous options” lacks a clear subject for “provide”; “there were not much variety” has a mismatch between the plural verb and uncountable noun; and “as the time progressed” uses an unnecessary article. In “Although they have certain disadvantages,” the pronoun’s reference is also unclear. These issues do not generally prevent understanding, but they reduce accuracy. Review sentence subjects and verb agreement, countable versus uncountable nouns, and article use, then proofread complex sentences to ensure each clause is complete.
