Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's modern world, it is a widely held view that an increasing number of people argue that at the moment we lived in the world we have a vast amount of choices in terms of personal growth and freedom of life to do anythings according to our needs. I strongly agree with this point of view because in today individuals have multiple choices in terms of education, health, and finance.

To commence with, some people think that we are live in this modern world, so we have several option for our personal development such as improved work life balance which allow an individual to offer a significant amount of time for their job or business they have as well as some portion of their life for their familiy member and especially for their wife and children. Furthermore, they argue that we have considerable freedom which we have not previously in the last two to three decades such as we are independent from our parents to marry someone or sometime we are completely free from government rules and regulations, mean that what we want we do it.

In the subsequent way, nowadays people have many choices for education. To elaborate further, public have many option in colleges and universities in terms of different subject to be study like computer science, mathematics, arts, business an many more. Hence, individual can now enable to learn distinct types of subject in unversities which was not previously possible in the last decades. For instance, most students learn new skills and courses of their unversity level from online sources which is convinete and flexible. Moreover, people have a considerable amount of option in terms of healthcare. Similarly, now every where in the world has a substantial hospitals and have a professional medical doctors and nurses where public can easily get benefits from them.

In conclusion, several people hold a view that today we have multiple option in terms of independence as well as self improvement. Therefore, I firmly agree with this point of view that nowadays peple have many choices as compared to the ancient people in terms of good education, advanced healthcare, the last but not the least easy access of internet resources.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that people now have many choices, and the conclusion restates this view. You also give relevant areas—personal freedom, education and healthcare—and the examples of university subjects and online learning help illustrate the education point. However, the discussion does not develop all these areas equally. The claims about work–life balance and freedom from parents or government rules are broad and not clearly connected to the question of having too many choices. Healthcare is also mentioned without explaining what choices people can make or how this supports your argument. Develop fewer points with specific explanations and examples to make the response more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main focus moves from personal freedom to education and healthcare. This gives the essay an overall coherent arrangement. You also use signposts such as “Furthermore,” “For instance” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, these transitions feel mechanical, and the links between ideas are not always clear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from work–life balance to marriage and government rules without explaining how these examples relate to one another. The second paragraph combines education and healthcare, while the healthcare point receives little development. Use clearer topic sentences and build each paragraph around one connected reason.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “personal development,” “considerable freedom,” “professional medical doctors” and “online sources,” so the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts to use less common expressions, such as “substantial amount” and “distinct types.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “a vast amount of choices” should use a plural quantifier, and “what we want we do it” is not a natural expression. Spelling errors such as “familiy,” “unversities” and “convinete” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling; precise, familiar vocabulary is more effective than ambitious phrases used inaccurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “which” and “where,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “at the moment we lived,” “we are live,” “several option,” and “which allow an individual,” where tense, verb form or agreement is faulty. Some long sentences also become difficult to follow, especially the sentence beginning “To commence with” and the clause “mean that what we want we do it.” Practise building accurate sentences before extending them with multiple clauses, and check subject–verb agreement, plural forms and tense consistency.
