Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few people think that these days we have too many options. I completely agree with this statement. However, there are some complexities in the case that will be discussed later.
All the people nowadays have many options when completing their education. There are numerous fields that they can choose to suit themselves. They can select a field that matches their interest and specialize it to have a better future. For example, thinking about myself i studied computer science in high school and now i have so many options to do bachelors in like data science, software engineering, computer science, machine learning etc.
Regardless of having so many options, in many fields the number of jobs are getting very limited.
People are usually choosing the most common degrees due to which the number of graduates in that specific degree exceed the number of jobs available in the country or that city. We can take an example of my country Pakistan where many engineers are jobless due to extensive amount of engineers in the country and lesser jobs.
Even though we have many options these days, its important to specialize the one that we choose. Specializing it is important to get the better of our competitors and get good jobs ahead.
In conclusion, i totally agree that there are too many options available for people these days but it is really necessary to master the skill we choose for a better future, as there are many other people competing in the same field as ours.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, especially the range of educational pathways and the mismatch between popular degrees and available jobs, and the Pakistan example helps make the latter concrete. This addresses the question, but the discussion is uneven: the education paragraph mainly lists choices, while the employment paragraph shifts towards competition and limited jobs without fully explaining how this demonstrates that having too many choices is a problem. The brief statement about specializing is also asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of excessive choice on people’s decisions and develop each example more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, a further point about specialization, and a conclusion. The progression from educational choices to job competition is understandable, and signposts such as “For example,” “Regardless,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or not fully logical. “Regardless of having so many options” introduces limited jobs, but the relationship between choice and job scarcity needs clearer explanation. The opening also promises “complexities” that are not clearly explored. The paragraph beginning “Even though we have many options” repeats earlier points rather than advancing the argument. Use more explicit links between claims and examples, and organise related ideas into a more developed sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss education and employment, including “specialize,” “graduates,” “competitors,” and “available.” These choices make the main ideas clear, and the examples are generally easy to follow. There are also some imprecise or unnatural expressions, such as “specialize it,” “extensive amount of engineers,” and “get the better of our competitors.” “Options” and “many” recur frequently, so the vocabulary can feel repetitive. Aim for more precise collocations and vary key terms—for instance, refer to “educational pathways” or “career choices” where appropriate. Check spelling and capitalization as well, including “bachelor’s” and “I.” These refinements would make your language more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “when,” “due to which,” and “as.” Most sentences communicate their meaning, and the conditional relationship in “as there are many other people competing” is understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, however. In “the number of jobs are getting very limited,” the singular subject “number” requires a singular verb; “the number of graduates … exceed” has the same agreement issue. The phrase “choose … and specialize it” also needs a clearer grammatical construction, such as “choose a field and specialize in it.” Capitalization and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly the lowercase “i” and missing commas. Review subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries while continuing to use varied structures.
