Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the opening: “I totally agree,” and you give relevant examples involving online shopping and communication technology. These show how people can compare products, choose colours and sizes, and communicate with potential partners. However, the response only partly develops the question of whether there are *too many* choices: most examples show that choices exist, rather than explaining when their number becomes excessive or what effects this has. The final point about medical decisions is introduced but not explained, and it sits uneasily beside the earlier examples without clarifying your overall view. To strengthen the response, explain why the choices you describe are excessive, support that reasoning, and connect the conclusion more clearly to your stated agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “To begin” and “Furthermore” signal the two main examples, and the shopping and communication ideas are grouped separately. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the shopping paragraph moves from product variety to price comparisons and returns without showing how these points support the claim that there are too many choices. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive, such as “Not only” and “As a result,” and the conclusion introduces medical choices without preparing for that topic in the body. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example to your argument, and ensure the conclusion summarises ideas already developed.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a small range of topic-related vocabulary, including “online platforms,” “compare the prices,” “technology,” and “video call,” which makes the general subject understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and several inaccurate word choices or forms make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “a huge varities” and “different various choices” are imprecise, while “selecting their partern” appears to mean choosing a partner. “People are not having a freedom to choice” also shows difficulty selecting natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “whatapp” and “partern” further reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing choice and its consequences, and check spelling, word forms, and natural collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “if they find it's not appropriate for them” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns, sometimes making meaning harder to follow. Examples include “individuals has,” “people are not having a freedom,” and “they had a video call,” where agreement, articles, or verb forms are inaccurate. The sentence beginning “Not only” is also incomplete in its construction, and punctuation is inconsistent, as in “although,in past.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent tense, then build longer sentences from these reliable patterns.
