Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear position—“I firmly agree”—and give examples from shopping and education, so the response is connected to the topic. However, the discussion does not consistently support that position: the first body paragraph presents the benefits of having many choices, and the second also describes positive outcomes, while the introduction claims that choice causes stress. This leaves the central argument unclear and only minimally answers whether there are too many choices. The examples about online shopping and school subjects are relevant, but they are not explained as evidence that choices are excessive or stressful. To strengthen the response, develop reasons that directly support your agreement, such as decision fatigue or difficulty comparing options, and explain each example’s connection to your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. These markers help identify the stages of the essay, but the ideas do not progress logically towards the stated position. Both body paragraphs focus on advantages, which conflicts with the claim that numerous choices create stress and with the conclusion’s positive assessment. Some sentences are also difficult to follow because several points are joined together, as in the discussion of internet searches and shopping. Use each paragraph to develop one clear reason, connect examples explicitly to that reason, and ensure the conclusion reflects the argument established in the introduction and body.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “wide range of choices,” “favourable,” “best value,” and “career path,” and the meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “lead the stresful life,” “correct decision,” “stand outs,” and “colourfull.” There is also repetition of “choices,” “options,” and “positive aspects,” rather than more precise language for the effects of choice. Build a more accurate set of expressions for the topic, such as decision-making, overwhelming options, and decision fatigue, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the benefits you describe from the problem of having too many options.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “For instance” and a concluding sentence with a relative clause. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “this is consequently become” has an incorrect verb form, while “it allow the people” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence joins several independent ideas with commas, and “For scholl childern and students to have option their future make them flexible” is difficult to interpret because its clause structure is incomplete. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and accurate punctuation. Proofreading for agreement, articles, and complete clauses will make your meaning easier to follow.
