Student answer (Band 6.5)
Today, modern life gives people incredible number of options every single day. Some people believe that we now have too many choices. I agree, with this idea because having too many options makes life stressful. It is also confuse our minds and waste our time.
First, of all daily shopping and entertainment have become very complicated. When we want to shop online and watch a video we have thousand of different products and movies. This huge variety make it difficult to choose and make a quick decision. People often spent hours looking the at choices instead of just picking one item. This happens to many shoppers every day. Even after they buy something thet worried different option was better. Therefore, too many small daily decision waste our valuable time make us unhappy.
On the other hand, having options is very good for major life decision. In the past people has to do some jobs as a parents. Today, we have option of choosing own career university, and lifestyle. This is great change for society . we can easily study new skill online, we can travel any parts of the world, and build unique identities based on own desire rather than traditional expectations. Therefore, having a control over major chioces will make the individual happy.
In conclusion, having too many choices can make an individual stress, regret and confused in trivial matters like shopping or entertainment . However when it comes to long term matters like lifestyle and career, modern abundance empowers us to shape our own future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that too many choices can be stressful, while recognising that choice is valuable for major decisions. Both sides are addressed, and the examples of online shopping, entertainment, careers and lifestyles are relevant. The conclusion also returns to this distinction, giving the response a consistent answer to the question. The discussion is extended with consequences such as wasted time and regret, although some claims remain broad—for example, that people “often spent hours” comparing products is not illustrated with a specific experience or further explanation. Develop one or two examples more fully, and clarify how you distinguish harmful everyday choice from beneficial long-term choice, to make the support more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting aspects of choice, and a conclusion. The progression from everyday decisions to major life decisions is logical, and signposts such as “First” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the contrast. This is a coherent arrangement, but cohesion is not consistently smooth. The opening of the first body paragraph, “First, of all,” is awkward, and several ideas are joined in long sequences with commas, particularly in the paragraph about careers and lifestyle. Some references, such as “This happens,” are broad rather than clearly tied to a specific example. Use transitions more naturally and divide or connect related points with clearer sentence boundaries and reference.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range to discuss the topic, including relevant expressions such as “huge variety,” “valuable time,” “traditional expectations” and “shape our own future.” These choices help communicate the contrast between routine decisions and major life choices. There are also attempts at more specific vocabulary, but some word forms, spelling and collocations are inaccurate: “confuse our minds,” “a control,” “chioces,” and “build unique identities based on own desire.” Such slips make the language less precise, even though the main meaning remains understandable. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, “confuse our minds” could become “make decision-making confusing,” while “a control” is better expressed as “control over.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive structure beginning “On the other hand” and a concluding “when it comes to” clause. The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors occur in basic sentence construction and agreement. For instance, “It is also confuse our minds” needs a correctly formed verb, and “This huge variety make” requires subject–verb agreement. Other examples include “people has to do” and “we have option of choosing own career,” where verb forms, articles and possessives need attention. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, especially where several clauses are joined by commas. Review agreement, articles and possessives, and proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly punctuated structure.
