Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely debated whether we have extra choices in recent time compared to the past. I firmly agree with this view because nowadays society has advanced so much that there is alternative options in every aspect of life.
The primary justification for my position is that human mind is complex and diverse part of body. This is because it never settles down, it keeps changing and makes room for improvement. For instance, in the past when people knew little about clothing they had to wear down whatever they found, but now the situation is changed completely due to the marked success in the textiles industries. There is wide range of clothes based on person's choice, there is also a different kind of clothes for each weather. Conequently, comparing to the past we can say we have too many choices to wear these days.
Another compelling reason to support my position is that human population is increasing at escalating rate. In other words, there are too many people around the globe each one of them has its own range of choices. A clear example of this can be seen in different kinds of schools established in the recent time. If we looked in the past children had not enough freedom, they had to adopt whatever their parents asked them to do. In contrast to it, children now have more freedom to choose. Therefore, increased population has also contributed to the diversity of choices.
In conclusion, I firmly agree that people have too many choices, primarily because of advancement in science and technology with a gigantic rise in population and literacy rate.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I firmly agree”) and is maintained in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons—developments in clothing choices and greater freedom in education—and include examples to illustrate them. This addresses the task, but the support is uneven: the clothing example explains how technology and textiles have expanded options, while the link between population growth and having more choices is less convincing and needs clearer explanation. The claim that children had little freedom in the past is relevant, but it would benefit from a specific example and fuller development. To strengthen the response, explain what “too many” choices means and show why the increase is excessive, rather than only demonstrating that choices have diversified.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Signposting such as “The primary justification,” “Another compelling reason,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the structure. This is a strong foundation, though some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “human population is increasing” does not clearly lead to the claim that each person’s preferences create more options; explain the causal link more explicitly. The clothing paragraph also repeats the idea of choice in its final sentence. Use referencing and transitions more naturally, and make each paragraph progress from its main claim to explanation and evidence without restating the same point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-relevant vocabulary, including “marked success,” “textiles industries,” “escalating rate,” and “diversity of choices.” These attempts help convey ideas about social change, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision. For instance, “extra choices” is less suitable than “more choices,” and “wear down whatever they found” does not express the intended idea clearly. There are also spelling and form errors, such as “Conequently,” and “a different kind of clothes.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate wording, and check spelling and singular/plural forms. More precise vocabulary for the central idea—such as “an overwhelming range of options”—would also help develop your argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “if,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, but they rarely prevent the reader from following the argument. For example, “there is alternative options” has a subject–verb agreement and number problem, while “human mind is complex and diverse part of body” needs articles and a clearer grammatical construction. In “If we looked in the past children had not enough freedom,” the conditional structure and punctuation are not well controlled. Review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, especially in longer sentences. More consistently accurate complex sentences would make your reasoning clearer and more fluent.
