Student answer (Band 5.5)

While many believe that our era is caracterized with the variety of choices whether in jobs or products . In my opinion ,I partially agree with them, it's undeniable that we have wide options to choose what to work but I think social media and advertisment are driving our choices in life.

In one hand , many believe that in we master our choices in life , they choose their dream job ,they buy whatever they want whenver they want .In fact ,in our era everythin has deveopped even the way of thinking changed and definition of job is different from the past. People in the past used to follow the rythme imposed by the society ; they study and work hard to have great grades to get best universities and then be a docter teacher or lawyer with good salary and conform the expectation of the society but now the way of thinking has changed ,our era encourage people who didn't succeed in their studies to freelance and have their own project and more people are welcoming that even gouverment is assiting them. Furthemore with the modernaization of cities ,you have the option to buy whatever you want and whenever you want .Their is a wide range of electronic devices and brands everywhere so you have many option to choose from .For example you may choose the model and color of the phone you want and choose from which store you wnat to buy.

In my opinion , i partially agree with the idea of the variety of options in life in our era. It's undeniable that you really have the choice to choose your dream job as the way of thinking has changed and also you may choose whether to work on-site or remotely but i strongly disagree with the idea of choosing what we buy and consume . Actually, social media and advertisment are playing a crutial role in what we pick and it's inflencing our choices. The ubiquitous of some production, the choice of certain colors to catch the eye of a target audience in diffenret advertisment; all these strategies are infuencing our choice .For instance , while shopping many people found themselves buying a certain product not because they need it but because they saw an influencer talking about it.

To conclude, while many believe that nowadays people have large choice in jobs and products. In my point of view , I found that we may chose te occupation we want but when it come to product we don't really have the choice as social media and advertesment are playing a major role in that choice.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partly agree because people have more freedom in choosing work, while advertising and social media influence what they buy. You address both jobs and products and support your points with relevant examples, such as remote work and buying a product after seeing an influencer promote it. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The discussion of changing career expectations is detailed, while the claim that consumers lack real choice is less fully explained; for example, the point about product colours and advertising strategies needs a clearer link to how these limit choice. A more precise explanation of what “too many” choices means would also strengthen your response and make the argument more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to a paragraph about work and products, then to your contrasting view and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall sense of direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded together, and linking phrases are occasionally awkward or repetitive, such as “In one hand” and repeated uses of “In my opinion.” The first body paragraph combines career changes, government support, modernisation, and shopping choices without a clear transition between them. Separate these strands into more focused paragraphs, use accurate transitions such as “On the one hand,” and make references such as “these strategies” explicitly connect to the preceding point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “freelance,” “remotely,” “target audience,” and “influencer,” which helps express ideas about work and consumer behaviour. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “playing a crucial role.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: examples include “advertisment,” “modernization of cities,” and “the ubiquitous of some production.” Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “choice” and “choose.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, and vary repeated terms with context-appropriate alternatives such as “options,” “select,” or “consumer decisions.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “as,” and “because,” and the main argument is generally understandable. However, control is inconsistent: some sentences contain several grammatical problems, and punctuation often makes boundaries unclear. For example, “While many believe that our era is caracterized with the variety of choices…” is an incomplete opening clause, while “many people found themselves buying” shifts tense in a general statement. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “you have many option” and “when it come to product.” Use complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and break long sentences into shorter units. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied structures easier to follow.
