Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent times, a section of people argue that we have a significant number of options. I completely agree with this opinion owing to the development of technology along with advancement of educational and job oppourtunities which leads to elevation in global trends. Thus number of choices in every aspect of life like education, job and even consumerism increased which supports people to compare and select excellent one.

The prime catalyst of this trend is advancement of technology. Automation and advanced technology play a crucial role in making decisions. For example, in order to select educational degree or job, artifical chatbots provides plethora of oppourtunities available according to our interest. Therefore such AI assistants are used to priortize options suitable for each individual.

Moreover, high quality eduaction also make a profound impact. High quality education assists people to explore wide varity of options through various branches of studies. For instance for this is STEM education which incorporates science, technology, engineering and maths. Attending this course ensures exploration of various fields and can choose any field of job.

A similar trend is visible in the case of consumerism. a vast number shopping onlines websites like Amazon and Flipkart are available in nowadays. We have a lot of choices to shop through online. People can find out affordable one by comparing the price and quality of commodities in one website with other.

In conclusion, technology and development in eduactional facilities leads to the remarkable climb in number of choices that benefits people in selecting better option which is more exceptional.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening: “I completely agree,” and you maintain it in the conclusion. You address the question with relevant examples from technology, education and online shopping, so the response covers the main task. The discussion of consumer choice is especially easy to follow, as you explain how shoppers compare price and quality. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. The chatbot example, for instance, says AI provides options and helps prioritise them, but does not show how this creates too many choices or what difficulty that may cause. The education paragraph also moves quickly from STEM study to job fields. Develop these links and consider acknowledging a drawback of abundant choice to make the argument more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, three body paragraphs organised around different sources of choice, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “For example,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument, and the examples generally follow the point they illustrate. Some progression is less smooth within paragraphs. In the education section, “For instance for this is STEM education” interrupts the explanation, and the link between studying STEM and being able to choose a job needs to be made clearer. The conclusion also repeats the main ideas without adding a concise synthesis. Aim for more precise links between each claim and its example, and use referencing and transitions naturally rather than relying mainly on paragraph-opening signals.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “automation,” “educational facilities,” “consumerism,” and “compare the price and quality.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions such as “prime catalyst” and “profound impact.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “elevation in global trends,” “excellent one,” and “remarkable climb in number of choices.” Spelling errors such as “oppourtunities,” “artifical,” “eduaction,” and “varity” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the argument, but they limit precision. Prefer familiar, accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe the “increase in available options” rather than a “climb in number of choices.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “I completely agree … owing to” and a relative clause in “which supports people to compare.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, there are some errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “chatbots provides” should use a plural verb, while “high quality education also make” needs a singular verb. The phrase “a vast number shopping onlines websites” is not grammatically formed, and “Attending this course ensures exploration … and can choose” lacks a clear subject for the second verb. Review subject–verb agreement and ensure each clause has a clear subject and verb. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
