Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear general position in the opening—“That is very true”—and give several examples of everyday decisions, including whether to study, pray, work or play. The reference to “opportunity costs” also shows an attempt to explain what is lost when one option is chosen. However, the response only partially develops the question: it mainly lists choices rather than explaining why modern life offers too many, or whether having many options is beneficial or harmful. The examples are repetitive and the claim about “35000 decisions” is not explained or connected to your argument. To strengthen the response, state your view more precisely and develop two or three relevant reasons with explanation and specific support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response stays broadly on the topic, and phrases such as “First of all” and “Similarly” show an effort to connect points. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and there is little overall progression from a position to reasons and a conclusion. Repeated use of “Similarly” and “It means” makes the links mechanical, while several examples repeat the same point about choosing between activities. Some references are also unclear, such as “he” when discussing people generally. Organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for distinct reasons, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions to show relationships between ideas, rather than repeating the same connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary, including “choices,” “decisions,” “opportunity costs,” “apply,” and “interviews,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated frequently, especially “choice,” “decision,” and “opportunity.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including “loose” for “lose,” “oppurtunity,” “Sme,” and “decsions.” Some expressions are unnatural, such as “gone up early” and “take a choice.” Build a wider set of accurate terms for discussing options and consequences, and check spelling carefully. More precise collocations would make your examples clearer and less repetitive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple structures, and you attempt some longer sentences with “when” and “that,” for example, “when we get up we choose that can we go to school.” These attempts show a desire to connect ideas, but the structures are often faulty and can make the meaning difficult to follow. There are recurring problems with verb forms and agreement: “when we gone up,” “a student have,” and “he have.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “he have a oppurtunity” and the run-together “decisionthat.” Practise forming clear questions and subordinate clauses, and check subject–verb agreement and past or present verb forms. Accurate simple sentences should come before adding more complex ones.
