Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the start: you completely agree that people have too many choices today. You support this with relevant examples involving remote work, leisure activities, online shopping, food and children’s entertainment, so the response addresses the topic. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the link between artificial intelligence and adults having more time to become singers, writers or actors is not made clear, and the discussion of virtual reality does not develop a distinct reason. The conclusion repeats your view but does not draw together the main reasons. To strengthen the response, explain how each example demonstrates an increase in choice and develop fewer points in greater depth, including a clear example from personal experience or wider knowledge.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable overall structure: it introduces your position, gives examples, and ends with a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, most of the examples are placed in one long body paragraph, so the progression from career choices to leisure, shopping and children’s programmes is difficult to follow. Some transitions are mechanical or unclear, particularly “Following this” and “In short,” which does not clearly summarise the preceding point. The sentence beginning “They have more convenient and online shops” also makes the connection between shopping options and the following details hard to track. Use separate paragraphs for distinct reasons and make each paragraph develop one central idea with clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “career opportunities,” “remotely,” “leisure activities,” “virtual reality” and “online reviews.” This is enough to communicate several relevant examples, but word choice and collocation are often imprecise or repetitive. For instance, “a wide range of varieties” is redundant, while “joining a music club” and “listening songs” do not express the activities naturally. “Traditional Pakistani foods” is specific, but “chines” is an inaccurate form and the list could be expressed more precisely. Repeated use of “choices,” “opportunities” and “convenient” also limits variety. Aim for accurate collocations and use more precise terms, such as “career paths,” “leisure pursuits” and “a broader selection,” while checking spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “such as” and “rather than,” and your main position remains understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur often enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. Examples include “Many individuals now be done their work remotely,” “they might be go for shopping,” and “there is no longer need to live closely to their offices.” The long sentence about online shops also contains an unclear construction: “which and also makes shopping more enjoyable.” Capitalisation after commas is inconsistent, as in “Following this, Nowadays” and “In conclusion, We.” Practise accurate verb patterns and build shorter, controlled sentences before combining ideas into longer structures.
