Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a clear position in the opening, saying you strongly agree that people face too many choices, and you give relevant examples from shopping, education and healthcare. The discussion of course options also begins to explain why choice can make decisions difficult. However, the response does not fully develop the argument: the healthcare point is only mentioned, and the final sentence about the benefits of multiple options is unfinished, so the extent of your agreement is not balanced or fully explained. The response is also 60 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop reasons and examples. To strengthen the answer, complete the counterpoint and explain why the disadvantages outweigh—or do not outweigh—the benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening states your view, the next section gives examples, and linking phrases such as “For example,” “In addition,” “Moreover” and “However” signal relationships between ideas. These help the reader identify the main topics. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several points are crowded into one long paragraph, and the final “On one hand” point is left incomplete. Some links also do not clearly show how the ideas relate, such as the shift from education to healthcare. Use separate paragraphs for each main reason and for the opposing view, and make sure each paragraph develops one point before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “wide range of courses,” “long-term benefits,” “career paths” and “digitalized,” and you cover several areas where people make choices. This gives the response some topic-specific range. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent and sometimes make the meaning hard to understand, for example “BLEAVES,” “SHOPOING,” “CONVIENMENT” and “DIAGONISES.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “opportunities in every field” where you mean choices, and “at the comfort of homes.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations such as “a wide range of options,” “make a decision” and “in the comfort of your home.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You make some attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, particularly when explaining that students have many course options but may struggle to identify their long-term benefits. However, sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes obscuring the intended meaning. For example, “I am strongly agree” has an incorrect verb form, while “everyone have” shows a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence also lacks clear sentence boundaries, and several clauses are joined without reliable punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with conjunctions such as “because” and “although.” Check agreement, articles and verb forms, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
