Student answer (Band 6.0)

With the advancements in technolgy, although this enabled individuals to have numerous choices to choose about their careers by mastering skills that are highly demand and highly rewarded, I largly believe that it has limited the opportunities for individuals because Artificial Intelligence is performing tasks of multiple fields more effectively and faster than humans.

To begin with the view that individuals nowadays have large number of options to choose their careers. This is because, they can easily do research online about the jobs and opportunities that can enhance their living standerds and choose between the careers that are more demanding in the job market. This help individuals to avoid wasting their time learning or working in the fields that are not beneficial for their careers and select which is best for them. For example, a student who has completed his intermediate education in computer field searches the best demanding and rewarding field to further study and settle their future well. As a result, people will put efforts and spend their time in fields that can be very crucial for their future and can help them improve their living standerds.

However, advancements in technolgy has many disadvantages that can lead to limit the options for individuals. Artificial intelligence is able to perform most of the tasks more effectively and faster than humans which lead to unemployment in many fields because companies can use AI to do most tasks themselves which were being done by the humans. For example, if a specific work was done by five different employees in a company before the AI, now these tasks can be handled by a single person using the AI. As a result, companies lay off many employees which lead to unemployment in many fields that envlove work using AI.

To sum up, although advancements in technology has created many options for individuals to make secure a better future, I largly believe that it causes more problems and also lead to unemployment in many fields.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you acknowledge that technology creates career options, but argue that AI ultimately restricts opportunities through job losses. Both sides are relevant to the question, and the examples about researching careers and a company replacing several employees with one AI-assisted worker help illustrate your reasoning. However, the response focuses mainly on career choice and employment, so it does not fully explore what “too many choices” might mean more broadly or explain when having many options becomes a problem. Some points are also asserted rather than developed—for instance, the claim that AI limits opportunities could be supported with a more specific example or explanation of which roles are affected. Develop the implications of your position more fully and connect each example directly to the question of choice.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present contrasting points, and the conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “To sum up” make the progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, the examples generally follow the claims they support. Some cohesion is mechanical, though, and repeated cause-and-effect links using “This is because,” “For example,” and “As a result” make the writing feel formulaic. The opening of the first body paragraph is also a sentence fragment (“To begin with the view that…”), which interrupts the flow. Use more varied transitions and make links between claims and consequences more precise; clearer referencing would also help avoid repeating “individuals” and “fields.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “advancements in technology,” “job market,” “Artificial Intelligence,” “unemployment,” and “lay off,” so the main ideas are generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “demanding and rewarding field.” However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, including “technolgy,” “largly,” “standerds,” and “envlove.” Some collocations are awkward: “choices to choose about their careers,” “highly demand,” and “make secure a better future” do not sound natural. The range is adequate for discussing the topic, but greater control of common academic collocations would make the argument more precise. Proofread spelling and learn useful phrases as complete word combinations rather than translating them word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “although,” “because,” and “which,” and the overall meaning remains understandable. Some sentence patterns are controlled, such as the explanation that companies can use AI to perform tasks previously done by employees. However, there are some recurring errors in sentence construction and agreement. The opening sentence is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into one structure, and “To begin with the view that…” is a fragment. Agreement is inconsistent in “advancements in technology has” and “This help individuals”; the plural subjects require plural verbs. The final sentence also shifts between “it causes” and “lead.” Aim for shorter, complete sentences when presenting complex ideas, and check subject–verb agreement and parallel verb forms.
