Student answer (Band 5.0)
Yes its true, nowadays we have many of the choices, not in just single field but in all of the fields.I agree 80% with this statement. This statement is only true for those who really have choices,If you look around, there are many of the people who don,t have choices in their lives.By nature they are blessesd with choices in every case, but physically by our society they are not allowed ,they are not completely free or independent to use that choices. However on the other hand, If we look there are many lucky people who are both naturally and physically by our society are not only belessed but also allowed to use thes choices in a better way.I am one of these luckiest people who get chance to use these choices,For example we have many choices in studying,we have options to select different schools, collages and universities.Same like that we have much option to select our subject according to our own interests.earlier these oppurtunities were not availible.I have one real life example, that one of my uncle,s daughter wants to become a pilot, her parents allow her to choose the subject according to her own interest. She was having interest so she workhard for it and now finally she is pilot. There is another example, that one of my neighbour's girl was not allowed to get married by her wish. She make suiside case.So having choices is correct for all but allowed to use these choices is not for all.So this statement is not true for all the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, qualified position: you agree that choices are plentiful for some people, but argue that social restrictions mean this is not true for everyone. The examples of your cousin choosing to become a pilot and your neighbour’s daughter being denied a choice in marriage are relevant and help illustrate this contrast. However, the response focuses mainly on whether people are permitted to use choices, rather than explaining in depth whether people today have too many choices. The claim that there are many options in education is relevant, but the effects of having so many options are not explored. Develop this central idea with reasons and consequences, and make the link between each example and your degree of agreement more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable line of thought, moving from your qualified agreement to examples of people with and without freedom to choose. Connectors such as “However” and “For example” show an attempt to guide the reader. At times, though, the ideas run together in one long paragraph, and the progression is difficult to follow. The repeated contrast between people who have choices and those who do not could be organised into separate paragraphs, each with a clear main point. Some linking phrases are also awkward or repetitive, such as “Same like that” and “There is another example, that”. Use simpler, accurate transitions and make references such as “these choices” clearly point to a specific idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate ideas about education, personal freedom and social restrictions, including “options,” “independent,” and “according to our own interests.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For instance, “many of the choices” and “much option” are not natural ways to express the idea, while “make suiside case” does not clearly convey the intended meaning. Spelling errors such as “collages,” “availible,” and “oppurtunities” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of precise phrases for discussing choice and autonomy, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to express contrast and reasons, for example, “However on the other hand, If we look…” and “She was having interest so she workhard for it.” This shows an effort to go beyond simple statements, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. Problems include verb forms and agreement (“she workhard,” “She make”), articles and plurals (“many of the people,” “much option”), and sentence boundaries, as several ideas are joined with commas. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a correctly formed supporting clause, then check tense, subject–verb agreement and punctuation.
