Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, people have a huge number of option in almost every part of life, from shopping to education and entertainment. Some people think that having too many choices is a problem. I completely agree with this view because too many choices create confusion and stress.
The main reason why too many choices is a negative thing is tha it makes decision making very difficult. In the past, life was simpler because there were only a few option. For example, when people wantad to buy a mobile phone there were not two or three bands. Today, there are three hundreds of models with different feature prices, and designs. As a result, people spend a lot of time comparing products, reading reviews and steel feel unsure about decision. This is called choice overload, and often lead to anxiety and dissatisfaction. Even after buying something.People think that may be another choice was better.
Another problem is that too many choice can waste time and affect happing. When students have to choose a career and jobs online. Instead of feeling free, they feel confused and streesed about making the wrong choice. Similarly, on platform like Netflix or You Tube, people spend more time searching for a movie than actually watching it.Therefore, fever choices can make life more peaceful and focuse, while too many choices make people less productive.
In conclusion, although having choices gives us freedom,i believe that in modern life, we have an excessive number of choice. This causes confusion, wastes time, and reduces satisfaction. So, I strongly agree that too many choices is becoming a serious problem in todays society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you strongly agree that an excessive number of choices causes confusion, stress, wasted time and lower satisfaction. Both body paragraphs give relevant reasons and examples, including comparing mobile phones and searching for a film on streaming platforms. The explanation of “choice overload” also supports your argument. This is a well-focused response that addresses the task and extends its main ideas. To develop the discussion further, make the career-choice example more specific and explain more fully how having fewer options could improve students’ decisions. Some claims, such as the contrast between simpler life in the past and today, are broad; a more qualified explanation would make the support more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear four-paragraph structure, and its progression is easy to follow: you introduce your view, present two distinct reasons, and summarise your position. Linking phrases such as “For example,” “As a result,” “Similarly,” and “In conclusion” help show how examples relate to the argument. The two body paragraphs also have clear central points. At times, however, connections between sentences are less smooth, particularly around “Even after buying something.People think…” and “When students have to choose a career and jobs online.” These punctuation and sentence-boundary problems interrupt the flow. Use cohesive devices to clarify relationships rather than relying mainly on familiar transitions, and check that each example is grammatically connected to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, including relevant expressions such as “choice overload,” “comparing products,” “dissatisfaction,” and “less productive.” These choices make your main ideas clear, and you attempt to use topic-specific language rather than repeating only basic terms. However, some word-choice, spelling and collocation errors reduce precision: “three hundreds of models,” “steel feel unsure,” “affect happing,” and “fever choices” do not communicate the intended ideas accurately. There is also repetition of “too many choices” and “choice.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and practise natural combinations such as “a wide range of models” and “feel uncertain about a decision.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “As a result…” and a contrast with “while.” This gives the response some variety, and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, especially with agreement, plurals, verb forms and sentence boundaries. For example, “too many choices is” should be “too many choices are,” while “often lead to anxiety” needs a subject-verb match. The sentence beginning “When students have to choose…” is incomplete, and “Even after buying something.People think…” needs correct punctuation and sentence construction. Review these patterns and proofread for complete sentences; more consistent control would make your argument easier to read.
