Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent days, it has been suggested that, people tend to have various opinions which was not very common earlier. I am a proponent of this statement and in this essay is going to be a discussion about this agreement with releavant examples followed by a summarised conclusion.
On the one hand, in past, most of the people used to have limited choice and did not had a vast range of opinion. One of the major reason behind it can be the limitation of knowledge. To exemplify the fact, before internet, almost 90% of the citizen of Bangladesh were less familiar with different international festivals which increased after the internet evolution and in current time, there can be seen a number of people celebrate western events like halloween and there are multiple opinions on such activity. Thus, internet worked like the catalyst that increased the number of choice.
On the other hand, people should have their own freedom of choice and they should be familiar with different perspectives. If there would be a single thought among everyone, it would decrease the creativity. For example, most of the people used to believe that the shape of earth is flat and if none would have questioned this opinion, the technology couldn't have advanced like today. Therefore, having a wide range of opinion opens the possibility of new innovations.
To conclude, there are too many choices in current world and it can show better result but the unnecessary opinions most of the time outweighs the positive side of it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you support the view that people now have more choices, and you give relevant reasons involving internet access and the value of differing perspectives. The examples about international festivals in Bangladesh and the historical belief that the Earth was flat help illustrate these points. However, the response partly shifts the question from having too many choices to having a wider range of opinions. The conclusion introduces the idea that unnecessary opinions can outweigh their benefits, but this concern is not explained in the body, so the extent of your agreement remains somewhat unclear. Develop the drawbacks of excessive choice directly and explain why they outweigh—or do not outweigh—the benefits to make your response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from limited access to information, to the benefits of different perspectives, is generally easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of your argument. At times, however, the connections are mechanical or the relationship between ideas is not fully clear. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from internet access to celebrating Halloween and then to “a number of choice” without clearly explaining how this demonstrates having too many choices. The conclusion also raises a new concern. Make each paragraph develop one central point and use clearer links between examples and the task question.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary to discuss the topic, including “limitation of knowledge,” “different perspectives,” “creativity,” and “innovations.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and attempts at more formal language are evident. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, however, such as “in recent days” for a broad current trend, “internet evolution,” and “a number of choice.” There are also spelling errors, including “releavant,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural topic-specific phrasing and check word forms and spelling. For example, describe the internet as having “expanded access to information,” and use “a wider range of choices” when referring to options.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If there would be a single thought among everyone…” and a relative clause in “which increased after the internet evolution.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction remain. Examples include “people…which was,” “did not had,” “One of the major reason,” and “the unnecessary opinions…outweighs.” The opening sentence also has an awkward clause structure: “in this essay is going to be a discussion.” Practise forming conditionals accurately and check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms. More consistently controlled complex sentences would make your argument clearer.
