Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that we have too many options in our daily life. While I acknowledge that having numerous opions can affect our decision-making, l believe that advantages having too much options can outweigh the disadvantages.
On one hand, having too many options can lead to the confusion and unnecessary stress. The decison-making can be difficult by having more choices. For example, if someone wants to purchase a mobile phone. There are alot of options in the market. It can be challenging for that person to choose one of them. This process can be time consuming and leave them unsatisfied, even after making purchase, because they would wonder weather another option can be better for them.
On the other hand, having many choices can provide freedom to people to fulfill there needs. This is because, People are free to choose according to what they exactly want. For instance, if a person wants to buy a car. There are alot of options available in the market. They have to choose one according to their need and budget. Even though, this process takes time but it can be beneficial for that peron. As having too many options can help people to choose according to their need.
In conclusion, even though it is time taking process to choose one from many options and it can cause confusion, but still it can helpful for many people to choose what they exactly want. From my prospective, having more options have more advantage than drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you acknowledge that many options can create stress, but argue that their benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Both sides are addressed, and the mobile-phone and car examples are relevant to the question. This fits the descriptor because the response covers the task, while some ideas are less fully developed than others. The phone example explains indecision and dissatisfaction, but the benefits of choice are mostly stated rather than explored; for instance, explain how different prices or features help people meet specific needs. The conclusion restates your view, though it could draw together the reasons more precisely. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation of its wider effect to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each side of the argument, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the progression. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because the same example pattern and phrases recur, particularly “There are a lot of options in the market” and “according to their need.” Some links are also awkward: “Even though, this process takes time but…” combines two contrasting structures, and the final paragraph repeats the main position without synthesising the supporting points. Use a wider range of natural transitions and clearer references, and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “decision-making,” “numerous options,” “confusion,” and “budget.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-choice, and collocation errors reduce precision: “opions,” “decison-making,” “alot,” “weather,” and “time taking process.” Repetition of “options,” “choose,” and “need” also makes the argument less flexible. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding your overall meaning, but they keep the vocabulary from being consistently accurate and natural. Check spelling carefully and learn common combinations such as “make a decision,” “time-consuming process,” and “meet someone’s needs.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if someone wants to purchase a mobile phone” and a concession in the conclusion. The main ideas remain understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation are present. For example, “advantages having too much options can outweigh” lacks a grammatical link and has a plural agreement problem; “having many choices can provide freedom to people” would be clearer as “can give people freedom.” The sentence “Even though, this process takes time but it can be beneficial” incorrectly combines two contrasting constructions. Capitalisation after commas is also inconsistent. Practise accurate clause patterns and proofread agreement and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
