Student answer (Band 5.5)

This is so true that today we have so many choices in almost everything, I should definately agree because we are living in 2026 and accessiblity of internet made it possible for all of us. If we talk about selecting a dress for an occassion or choosing a major for studies, we have so many options.

Internet things helped us and made it possible enough for all of us that we can easily access a shopping website, a restaurant, a place to go for vaccation or subject to study. I would love to add the scientific research as it played vital role in this. These researches opened a vast list of opitons for us in every segment of our life, and by the access of internet on our fingertips we can get all the available information accross the globe.

As per my own experience, I was quite concious for selecting a program for my masters eventhough my major was in business, it was really struggling to select one option to persue. I have five options in my hand i.e Marketing, Micro Management, Sales, Digital Entreprunership or Finance. I availed marketing as my major becasue it was more related to my studies that time. The reason for mentioning this experience was as per my knowledge the marketing is a major that subject have been came into studies from just few decades eventually before that people don't have that much choices in thier fields.

Conclusion, from my perspective if I compare people to the old times, today we have so many choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that people now have many choices, and you return to this view in the conclusion. The examples of choosing a dress, a subject, and a master’s programme are relevant, and the personal account gives the response a concrete illustration. However, the discussion does not fully explain why having more choices is significant or whether this is beneficial or problematic. The point about scientific research is introduced but not clearly connected to the growth of options, and the comparison with earlier generations is asserted rather than supported. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a specific example so that the ideas are more fully addressed and supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The personal example is placed in its own paragraph, which helps the reader follow the shift from general claims to experience. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Internet things helped us” does not clearly refer back to a specific idea, while “The reason for mentioning this experience” interrupts the explanation rather than linking it smoothly. The final paragraph repeats the central claim without drawing together the reasons. Use clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing, and make each paragraph progress from a claim to an explanation and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “access,” “scientific research,” “available information,” and “major,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “on our fingertips,” though the natural phrase is “at our fingertips.” Several spelling errors—“definately,” “occassion,” “opitons,” and “accross”—and inaccurate word choices reduce control. Phrases such as “Internet things” and “Micro Management” are unclear or unsuitable in context. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; this would make your vocabulary more effective and natural without requiring unnecessarily complex words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation and a personal narrative, and the main message is usually understandable. However, some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate. For example, “the marketing is a major that subject have been came into studies” has problems with clause structure, agreement, and verb formation; “people don't have that much choices” also has an agreement error. In “I have five options in my hand,” the tense does not fit the past account. Review sentence boundaries and practise forming relative clauses and past-tense narratives accurately. Greater control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
