Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that nowdays we have too many choices. I strongly agree with the statement. this is because companies offers a variety of products. and technology has made our live much easier to access different options.

To commence with, people may have variety of options to buy their products. In addition, some companies offers a different kinds of product items like clothings, electronic devices, and others accessories to attract customers. for example, when companies provide many attractive product, they may have too many choices options as well as some companies advertise their product to sales it more effectively. as a result, people can compare with another items before making a purchase. although it gives them greater freedom but it can also mak e difficult to select best options. therefore, having too many choices can sometimes create confusion.

On the other hand, technology has made our lives much easier. people are more likely to depends on social media. furthermore, nowdays people may buy anything from home by using shopping applications. they don't need to visit any shop to find their preferred product. for instance, online shopping offer many items clothing, electronic device and form home. people can see hundreds of product within a few minutes. However, it can take a lot of time to choose a best items. as a result, people can spend too much time to deciding what to buy.

In conclusion, I strongly agree with this statement. This is because companies offers a wide range of products and technology provides easy access to them. Although having too much options provide greater freedom, it can also make decision-making more difficult.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and is maintained in the conclusion. You address both sources of choice named in your response: the range of products offered by companies and the access to options provided by technology. The examples of comparing products and browsing online shopping applications are relevant to the question. However, some points are less fully developed: the social-media point is introduced but not clearly connected to having more choices, and the discussion largely repeats that choosing can take time or cause confusion. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how an abundance of options affects people, and develop one example with a specific consequence or personal observation rather than listing product categories.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting related reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Paragraphing helps the reader follow the main topics, and linking expressions such as “In addition,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” signal stages in the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “people are more likely to depends on social media” does not lead clearly into the point about shopping applications, while “although it gives them greater freedom but” combines contrasting signals awkwardly. Repeated transitions such as “as a result” also make the flow predictable. Use fewer formulaic linkers and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “variety of products,” “compare,” “advertise,” “online shopping,” and “decision-making.” These choices show awareness of the subject, but the range is limited and several word-choice or collocation errors make parts of the response awkward, such as “choices options,” “sales it,” and “a best items.” Spelling and word-form slips, including “nowdays,” “clothings,” and “electronic device,” are also noticeable. Aim to use more precise phrases and check whether nouns are countable and whether verbs fit their context. For instance, describe companies as offering a “wide range of products” and consumers as “weighing alternatives” before making a purchase.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause (“Although having too much options…”) and a result clause (“as a result…”). The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make sentences difficult to follow. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “companies offers” and “online shopping offer,” the infinitive pattern in “spend too much time to deciding,” and article or number errors in “a best items.” Several sentences also begin with lowercase letters after full stops, and the sentence beginning “although it gives them greater freedom but” has an incorrect clause structure. Practise agreement, articles, and clause construction, then proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
