Student answer (Band 5.5)

NOWADAYS PEOPLE HAVE MORE CHOICES THE EVER BEFORE REAGRDING EVERY ASPECT OF THERE LIFE, LIKE IN EDUCATION , SHOPPING, FOOD AND MANY MORE . BUT SOME PEOPLE BELIEF THAT HAVING TOO MUCH CHOICES CAN CAUSE STRESS AND AFFECTS DECISION MAKING ABILITY OF INDIVIDUALS . I LARGELY BELIVE IN THAT BUT ON OTHER HAND HAVING CHOICES CAN HELP YOU TO CHOOSE BEST FOR YOUSELF.

ON ONE HAND ,HAVING NUMEROUS CHOICE CAN SOMETIMES BE OVERWHELMING AND TIME CONSUMING FOR INSATNCE STUDENT CHOOSING A UNIVERSITY CAN BE CONFUSED BY NUMEROUS COURSES UNIVERSITY OFFER AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO CHOOSE ONE . SECONDLY IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE ANYTHING PEOPLE CAN SPEND MUCH TIME ONLINE COMPARING. WHICH WASTES THERE TIME AND ENERGY CAUSING UNNECESSARY STRESS . OTHER DISADVANTAGE IS THAT MAY SOCIAL PLATFORMS AFFECTS THE CHOICES PEOPLE MAKE, ON SOCIAL MEDIA NUMEROUS CHOICES WOULD BE PRESENT WHICH CAN BE FRUSTATING AND TIME COUNSUMING, AND IT MAKES PEOPLE WONDER IF THEY MADE A RIGHT CHOICES WHICH AFFECTS THERE WELL BEING.

ON THER HAND , PEOPLE HAVE DIFFRENT CHOICES BASED ON CULTURE , FINANCIAL CIRCUMCTANCES AND TASTE. HAVING CHOICES CAN HELP THEM TO CHOOSE WHAT BETTER FOR THEM IN EVERY ASPECT AS STUDENT CHOOSING A CERTAIN COURSE CAN COMPARE BASED ON CREDENSTIALS AND THERE BUDGET WHICH WOULD HELP HIM TO PLANE .

IN NUTSHELL, HAVING CHOICES CAN BE A GOOD THING TO CHOOSE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU UNTIL AND UNLESS IT BECOMES TIRING AND AFFECT YOUR WELL BEING . SO INSTEAD OF FOCUSING PURELY ON CHOICES WE SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT WE ACTUALLY WANTS IN OUR LIVES.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you largely agree that too many choices can be stressful, while recognising that choice can help people find what suits them. You address both sides and use relevant examples, including selecting a university course and comparing products online. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. The social-media point, for example, repeats that choices are frustrating and affect wellbeing without showing clearly how this happens. The benefit of choice is also developed mainly through one course-selection example. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each example in more detail and make your degree of agreement more explicit in the conclusion, rather than leaving the final position somewhat conditional.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In nutshell” help readers follow the main direction. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and the first body paragraph contains several points joined into a long sequence, making the relationship between online shopping and social media less clear. Some references are also difficult to follow, such as “it makes people wonder” because the referent of “it” is not precise. Use clearer topic sentences, separate distinct examples, and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim. This would make progression smoother and reduce reliance on repeated linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “overwhelming,” “time consuming,” “financial circumstances,” and “well being,” and you attempt to express ideas about decision-making and personal preferences. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are frequent enough to make the writing less fluent, as in “reagrding,” “frustrating,” “credent(i)als,” and “circumctances.” Some combinations are also unnatural or imprecise: “numerous choice,” “choose best for youself,” and “made a right choices.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, such as “a wide range of options” and “make the right choice,” rather than translating word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “which” and “if,” and the main ideas can generally be understood. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur. For example, “numerous choice … makes it difficult” has a mismatch between the plural subject and verb, while “what better for them” is missing a verb. The sentence beginning “People can spend much time online comparing” is followed by a fragment, “Which wastes there time and energy.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, particularly where several ideas are joined with commas. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review agreement and article use before submitting.
